Obama ticket frenzy on Craigslist
Source: Associate Press, KGW

A teenager who just came of voting age, pleading for the chance to hear a presidential hopeful. A desperate parent asking for an extra ticket for her child. A lucky ticket-holder offering to give up his seats in exchange for an X-Box 360.

These are just a few of the posts placed on the Portland Craigslist website in the hours after all tickets to Senator Barack Obama's Portland visit were given away.

. . .

Obama's Portland visit was announced Tuesday evening. By noon Wednesday, all 11,000 online tickets for Obama's Portland visit were snatched up, and the remaining thousand or so tickets were given out at his Portland campaign headquarters shortly after it opened Wednesday afternoon. The Obama campaign said people could still sign up on an e-wait list on the Obama web site.

1. That "lucky" ticket holder who wants the xbox 360 sounds like a real scumbag,
what an asshole.

3. Ha! I just got an email from the Portland Obama team
strongly stating "Stop calling & emailing the Portland office immediately!"

The tickets are all gone. More people signed up to volunteer than they could take (Secret Service limited the number of volunteers). They're swamped and can't get done what they need to do, they're all too busy turning volunteers and people who want tickets away.

4. I think I'll leave my house at 7 tomorrow and have a nice walk down to the Coliseum.
Might be kind of tough to get in a 9:30.
