President Kerry
How about a little positive visualization or sumbliminal suggestion...I say whenever talking about Kerry, refer to him as President Kerry. Some people might correct you, but I bet a lot won't notice. Creates a familiarity and comfort level in people's minds with the idea.

Besides, it is just as legitimate to call him Mr. President as it is the unelected chimp.

1. Yes, President Kerry....
...it has a nice sound to it. I like it! I also like Ex-President Bush as in exiled president.

4. Wouldn't that be an oxymoron?

5. No
Not for anyone who knows what the word oxymoron means.

7. Oxymoron:
a combination of contradictory or incongruous words.

A president is one that leads.

6. Eh...
I don't like Bush either, but insulting the Office of the Presidency is not something I want to do.

In Lies and the Lying Liars Who Tell Them, Franken tells the story of a White House Press Corp Dinner (or something like that) where he applauded the President. Some rethug in the administration (can't remember who, just took a 4 hour exam...) was like "Nice to see you respecting the President"
Franken says "Of course I am applauding him, he's your president and he's my president, and he was elected fair and squ...well, he's the president"

I'd rather insult his policies and actions than try to act like he doesn't hold the Office of the Presidency (as his actions clearly indicate he does and uses the powers of the Office coercively).

8. I like it
I've heard that affirmations only work if you state them in the present tense (ie. We have a new President. Not "will" have).

9. President Kerry it is!
May I continue our visualization exercise:

10. Visualization
Visualize Kerry taking the Oath of Office.

Visualize Kerry standing at the POTUS podium.

Visualize not having to cringe when you know you are about to hear the President speak.

11. Sounds good. But don't crowd out President Gore just yet.
Kerry's time is coming, and this time around the Democratic victor will actually occupy the White House!
