Just saw Kerry's new ad on CNN's Inside Politics.

It gave me chills; the music is stirring and the content inspiring. I think these ads will be well received by those who see them.

And what a contrast to the dark, negative ads Dubya is incessantly running!

1. They're really buying up the air time, glad to see it!
On the "pseudo-fair and balanced" CNN, no less :P

I do like his new ads, they're good. Positive, which is nice.

2. They're good, huh?
I am going to break the television one of these days cuz of those )(&(*%^$ ads Bush is putting out insinuating that Kerry voted NO to body armor for the troops.

Like, why did Congress even have to vote specially FOR body armor? Why didn't they have it at the outset?

GRRRRRRR

4. Yes. Why didn't our troops have proper body armor at the outset?
Answer: Because the Bush administration had other priorities.

This is the question that should be asked. The Senate voted overwhelmingly for the $87 billion Iraq supplemental. Kerry's vote was a protest vote; he and Biden had authored an amendment which would have required the money to come from eliminating the tax cut for the top 1% for one lousy year!

The Senate is now demanding an accounting of the billions that that been appropriated and already spent in the seeming quagmire that is Iraq. The administration will fight this tooth and nail.

9. Actually if you want to get into it....
The bill that BC04 uses so frequently, is also widely criticized, ex. 33,000 for a 14,000 truck. We have funds in there to give the Iraqis internet access...wtf. Yes one line item was probably for armor, but it's buried under a pile of poor policy. There was several attempts to ammend it but the republican majority kept shooting them down and wouldn't let them pass. In the end when it came down to the wire and to vote on the final version (although nothing that was good had been allowed by the Rep.) It was an overwhelming majority vote,, obviously trying to show "patriotism". I'm glad to see that Kerry (also edwards) while probably knowing they were in the severe minority took a stand to make a statement even though it was obvious the bill was going to pass. Yes I took soem time to research it a bit last night.. the dialogue is immense and I probably missed a bunch, and then there's the actual bill! whew.. being a senator sucks.

10. Thanks for your research Demoin04. Senate votes can be easily demagogued.

And the Bush smear machine are just the bastards to do it. I smile when I think of the stark contrast of Kerry's new ads with the dark, negative and vile crap Bush is running--which I think will backfire, "big time", as Cheney would say.

And welcome to DU!

12. Clinton, too; he won with optimism.
"Don't Stop Thinking About Tomorrow..."

I mean really, which would you rather, that, or "who cares about history, we'll all be dead?"

11. Saw about 5 today in Oregon
Day One of the new ads and they're running them heavy. Not sure if that's good or not, hope we don't make people tired of them. But they are really good and inspiring. So we'll hope for the best!
