Sam Nunn is utterly unacceptable as VP
As a Clinton supporter, I realize that Obama is likely to win at this point. So here is my advice to any Obama campaign workers who may post here. Sam Nunn is an anti gay bigot and is totally unacceptable for that alone. The message of a Nunn choice to gay voters would be drop dead. His name seems to be popping up all over. Just say no to Nunn.

1. Sam Nunn would be a stupid choice for a whole host of reasons
He's the reason that Clinton was unable to pass legislation allowing gay people to serve openly in the military.

2. I don't believe Nunn would be the pick.
It will be someone with a bit more vitality. Obama doesn't need a Dick Cheney to that extent.

If you heard Obama's speech yesterday, and Bush's today, there is no question on that.

9. he's an old DINO from a state the Democrats don't have the slenderest hope of winning
Edited on Thu Mar-20-08 04:17 AM by depakid
He's sometimes lauded for his "intelligence" -but the bottom line is that he's about as bright -and has about as many original thoughts as George Will.

16. Here's his wiki entry
It's a bit flattering, if you ask me.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sam_Nunn

No mention of his covering for Clarence Thomas -perhaps the most ill suited and incompetent jurist to ever sit on the court. And that's saying a lot.

10. Nunn is an old Dixiecrat type... former Sen. from Georgia
less than a couple of steps from Zell Miller.

He's on the board of directors for GE and Chevron.

19. He's puts a (D) next to his name....
and is well respected among the DLC and Republican corporate whores...

His voting record shows him to be a typical old school Southern Democrat... he generally went with the Repubs on social and economic issues.

12. He is the most responsible for the failure of Clinton to let gays serve openly
as chair of the Senate Armed Services Committee. He also refused to vote for any pro gay legislation of any kind while in the Senate.

what are these people afraid of?
who gives them the right to deny rights to all people?

Is it grounded in religious views or what? If so I thought State and Church was supposed to be separate.

I have never understood this at all.

be right back

I have no doubt that Sen. Obama, if he became Pres. would abide by the Constitution. He is well grounded in it, having taught contitutional law.

That is all.

Ps. Oh yeah, and Hillary ain't winning the nomination.....just in case your 2 brain cells hadn't figured that one out yet.

34. I'm happy your thinking logically.
I don't think the topic of "gay" whether anti or not should be brought into a campaign. They'll be enough issues on it's own with no help from a candidate.

35. Clinton/Clark, McCain/Lieberman, and ...
... and Obama won't get a chance to choose because Cheney is in the Middle East lining-up airbase support for the imminent attack on Iran which will provide the media lapdogs bloody chum for an "Obama is inexperienced" feeding-frenzy.

Get ready for the propaganda catapult against Obama and justifying the (economic-meltdown transference-of-blame via) Iran carpetbombing.

36. I heard that Cheney got the Iraq Presidents' Council to reschedule elections
Which they had "cancelled" a few weeks ago. Those elections were the whole point of the "surge". I am still trying to put this story together.
