Kerry +2 in Oregonia
If only Liguria and Catalonia also had electoral votes, Kerry would have this thing wrapped up by now.

"Bush and Democratic rival John Kerry were running very close in an Oregon poll released Monday.

Kerry had the backing of 48 percent of likely voters and Bush had the backing of 46 percent, with 6 percent undecided. In 2000, Democrat Al Gore beat Bush by half a percentage point. Ralph Nader, then a Green Party candidate, got 5 percent.

The Research 2000 poll of 600 likely voters was taken April 25-29 for the Portland Tribune and television stations KOIN, KDRV and KEZI. The poll had a margin of sampling error of plus or minus 4 percentage points."

1. That's good
Gore barely won Oregon in 2000, so if Kerry's at least even he's in fine shape because he'll get most of the undecideds.

3. Link from Portland CBS affiliate
Looks like they are withholding the results for the late news here, but more interesting is this:

<snip>

Campaign consultants to President Bush and Sen. John Kerry know that television is the place that Americans get most of their information about candidates.

Asked if they are following the presidential campaign very closely, closely, not very closely or not at all, almost 60 percent of those surveyed said they are very interested.

Domestic issues are their biggest concern -- health care and education, but most of all the economy, especially jobs. Fewer respondents are concerned about homeland security, the war against terrorism and Iraq.

When you breakdown the survey by sections of the country, those of us out West appear even more concerned about the economy and even less interested in what's going on in Iraq.
