My 100% strategy to get the media talking about Bush's "Lies" & ineptness
Edited on Fri Apr-30-04 05:41 PM by Dr Fate
Okay- I know this is simple stuff- but hear me out.

The only way to for Kerry to defelct this "flip-flop" crap is to "fool" the media into talking about Bush's LIES.

How do you do that?- you get the Repugs to start talking about it- its the only way the media will repeat it- if Repugs are saying it.

First Kerty starts by calling Bush a LIAR. Use the word. Give ten examples. The next day he says it AGAIN- giving 5 or 10 ADDITIONAl examples of Bush "Lies." Remember: use the WORD. It is spelled L-I-A-R. It's real easy.

The results? Republicans and the media will not be able to contain themselves- and the media will be on fire defending Bush- unwittinly INFORMING people of the lies. It will give DEM surrogates & Kerry himself to expand upon, and point out even more Bush "lies." (again- use the WORD)

Dont call it "Flip-Flopping"- call it LYING- and use the god-damed word.

When that one wears out, Kerry should say Bush is "... apparently scared of me- and if it's not true, then lets have an unscripted, no notes, televised debates- TOMMORROW. I am reaqdy for MAN TO MAN debates whenever Bush is-"

Then the next day, you issue the same challenge again and say- "Bush is scared of me, he refuses to debate, on TV, w/o notes or scripts." Suggest it is because he is " apparently not that smart, or at least not up to the challenge- he would rather rely on spokes people and these attack ads that everyone is sick of..."

Add "I know he has time, because he has vacationed more than any Prez. in history..."

Do it again the next day, and say, "if I am wrong, then why does he still refuse to debate? Intelligent people in America debate by the water cooler everyday- what is Bush's major malfunction(military term)??" Add: "...he can even bring Cheney along like he did during his 9/11 chat- I dont mind..."

Again the Pukes & media will SHIT THEIR PANTS- and they wont shut up about- unwittingly INFORMING people & planting more seeds.

The general strategy should be to GET REPUBLICANS TAKING ABOUT IT. That is the only way to get it in the media.

Tell my exactly where I am wrong & exactly where I am right.

2. But will Kerry do it?
When he said that 'off mike' remark about the crooks he came out and said it was the Repuke operative he meant and not Bush*.

3. But it worked- he got REPUBLICANS and thus the media talking about "lies"
Edited on Fri Apr-30-04 05:46 PM by Dr Fate
..this time he says it "on purpose" and lists actual examples.

Kerry is going to HAVE to do this, or somthing like it.

This Flip Flop, medals, elitist garbage STICKS- because REPUBLICANS are talking about it.

The media REPEATS, repeats, repeats ANYTHING that Republicans are talking about.

12. I like what you say
part of me thinks you've forgotten that Republicans, who still like Bush, like Bush as a matter of dogma, a matter of faith, a matter of religiosity. There is nothing that you can say or do that will turn them around. If they were even remotely inquisitive they would be peeling the Bush-Cheney '04 stickers off their cars already. I mean how much more of a clusterfuck can one president create yet still maintain a rabid following, IN FACT, the more fucked it gets the more rabidly dedicated they get.

But i do agree with you, and I have the feeling that Kerry is going to bring out the big-guns before long - the strategy you offer is certainly worth consideration.

14. It's not about winning over repugs- it's about exposing them...
...to the "fence sitters" who are inclined to believe Kerry is a "Flip Flopper" and who assume Bush is honest and intelligent, simply because no one says otherwise.

16. You have to me more subtle
Rhetoric like this would have the media talking about how Kerry must be desperate.

17. They are going to say that anyway. Bet me money on it.
Edited on Fri Apr-30-04 10:59 PM by Dr Fate
The media is going to do absolutely NOTHING but trash Kerry anyway.

At least my idea "fools" Republicans into raising hell and DEMANDING an apology or somthing. When republicans talk, the media LISTENS- and they REPEAT, repeat, repeat whatever the GOP is saying.

When Kerry is interviewed about it all he has to say is- "I'm through talking to you media guys- I'm ready to talk to Bush, man to man. If he has problem w/ what I say, then he can tell me all about it, on TV, live, no script, no tele-prompters, no-holds barred. I am ready when he is."

That is desperate? Sounds ballsy to me. Desperate is hiding away and letting spokes-people do your talking.

How is the media going to spin this as "desperate" when Bush refuses to debate?

I am telling you- if he did somthing BOLD like this- a LOT of "fence sitters" would take notice.

As it is, they think he is a "flip flopper" and the think Bush is honest- merely because no one is telling htem different.

He needs to do SOMTHING BOLD & OUTRAGEOUS- or he will be ignored.

What is your suggestions for getting Kerry noticed?

Subtlety is a good thing too- what do you have in mind?

18. Like your ideas about lying & debates!
But how about an organized surrogate team to go out & make the accusations over & over about the lies.

Then when the media heats up, Kerry steps up & offers debates.

I think Kerry could hurt himself by being so negative. I would rather see a Dem tag team all over the place.

19. An example of subtlety
Sorry to take so long to respond, but I had computer problems. I think a virus of some sort. And right on the weekend. Oh well. Fortunately I have another computer. But it's away from the T.V., so I can't do two things at once.

Earlier on Bush was being questioned about his role in the National Guard by the press. Kerry had nothing to do with this, and when asked about it said something like he thought the matter should be looked into but he didn't want his people to pursue it, and he himself would not make it an issue. This was an excellent answer. He came across as presidential and above this sort of petty thing, but he hinted that he thought there might be something to it. That's the way to go about it.

You want someone other than Kerry to be making whatever attacks, if that's the right word, to be made. Then when Kerry is asked about it, he should say something along the lines that the matter should be looked into, but he himself never makes the direct acusations. That way he comes accross as looking presidential, gives minor credence to the issue, but isn't involved himself. This is what Bush does with Cheyney.

Once Kerry gets a Veep, that will help.

The other thing Kerry should do is remain calm and poised at all times. He should never lose his cool in any way. Very few people pay attention to the issues and reason things logically. They react by emotions, by feeling. Images and simple slogans, catch phrases make an impression.

There's a long, long ways to go until the election. Many things will happen before then. Look how many things have happened just this one month. Postivite job reports comes out. Looks good for Bush. Problems in Iraq. Looks bad for Bush. Clark, 9/11 Commission, Woodward; looks even worse for Bush. Polls show Bush doing well despite all this. Looks good for Bush. Medals thing. Looks bad for Kerry. Polls come out good for Kerry. Looks good. This is just one month.

Heck, just look at Wisconsin in 2 days where 2 polls come out +7 and +8 for Kerry and +12 for Bush.

There's a long ways to go. Slow and steady wins the race.

"First Kerry starts by calling Bush a LIAR. Use the word."

I wish. He shoulda used that word long ago. The more he uses that "misleader" crap, the more it makes him sound like he is parsing words.

21. It's a good strategy for Clark to use once he's picked for VP.
And I have no doubt he will, too. Clark has cajones.

It would be unseemly for Kerry to do it.
