3. I have been watching it too
He read them (The Chickenhawks) the riot act. Now McCain is up there on damage control. I don't get that man. Why does he always take up for the bushites after the way they treated him and his family. I am curious to see if this will go into a deeper discussion this morning.

8. I wonder how the guardsmen in Iraq feel about how honorable bush*s
service is in comparison to Kerry's service or more importantly, their own.

they thought they could continue attacking kerry without the chimps own record being questioned. so rove got scared and now trying to put an end to it by getting mccain to call for it. mccain is an ass for doing shit for them after they attacked his wife and his daughter for being dark skinned.

11. That was great. Then the whore Judy Woodruff showed it in her
show around 11:30. The Dems should hammer on this every day and compare Bush*'s AWOL with Kerry's earning the Silver Star and Bronze Star.

NO TRUCE. We didn't start this nonsense, but we are going to finish it. Chicken George II opened the door and now he's got to deal with the fallout.

16. I agree. No Truce.
It's time to shove the AWOL issue up his ass. The Democrats need to get on it! Get Terry McAuliffe out there again.....he's good at pointing out the military record of the AWOL Chickenhawk or lack thereof. Wes Clark! He should be Kerry's point man on this.

Get Richard Holbrook on it.

Kerry needs to organize a huge group of Military people who can make the rounds on the talk shows. He needs some people who are available 24/7 to answer all of the crap the repukes are throwing out....preferrably, 4 Star Generals. :)

15. That's my Senator!!
That's my Senator!! Ain't he grand? :7

And don't miss Wes Clark's Op-Ed today in The Times:

"Republicans have tried to use this event to question his patriotism and his truthfulness, claiming he has been inconsistent in saying whether he threw away his medals or ribbons. This is no more than a political smear. After risking his life in Vietnam to save others, John Kerry earned the right to speak out against a war he believed was wrong. Make no mistake: it is that bravery these Republicans are now attacking.

"Although President Bush has not engaged personally in such accusations, he has done nothing to stop others from making them. I believe those who didn't serve, or didn't show up for service, should have the decency to respect those who did serve — often under the most dangerous conditions, with bravery and, yes, with undeniable patriotism."

17. Before you all get to bashing McCain for his reply...
he's a Republican, he's got to keep to the party line to some degree. Given that, his statement is lip service in my opinion (CNN.com):

"At least could we declare that the Vietnam War is over and have a cease-fire and agree that both candidates -- the president of the United States and Sen. Kerry served honorably -- end of story? Now let's focus our attention on the conflict that's taking place in Iraq, that is taking American lives as I speak on this floor..."

Nobody who reads a newspaper is going to equate Kerry's service with Bush's. So that line is basically ineffectual, because everybody knows that Bush demonstrated no bravery in Texas (though he did brave the dreaded dentist's office). Asking to declare the Vietnam War as over -- this is hardly a punch statement. Perhaps McCain is trying to smooth over the issue, but what he's saying is definitely no adequate reply, as it were, to Lautenberg's statement.

18. Say thank you, Frank
"Thank you, thank you, thank you.

"You are the best Senator we can have in these terrible times. Your outspoken defense of Senator Kerry's honor, your calling a chickenhawk a chickenhawk, your taking no prisoners in the battle for truth; all vintage Lautenberg.

"Combined with Gen. Clark's Op-Ed in The New York Times this morning, you have given us a banner day! I am so proud to be a Democrat today and, especially, a Democrat from New Jersey."

You don't have to be from New Jersey to use this webform:

20. "They both served honorably"???!!!
* couldn't even finish serving out his chickenhawk appointment.

Isn't that the truth!

I think it's time for someone to remind McCain that the idiot-in-chief DID NOT serve honorably....he was AWOL...AWOL....AWOL. I heard him {McCain} say the same thing yesterday and couldn't believe my ears. The next time he says it, he should be corrected. The shrub should not be given ANY credit where he deserves NONE. He was/is an AWOL Chickenhawk who likes to play dress-up in flight suits. Nothing more.
