Rush? Hannity?

I'm just so disgusted at how Wright is being painted as some sort of anti-American bigot. For the record he is a Marine veteran. What arm of the service did Rush or Hannity serve in?

Here is his bio:

Rev. Dr. Jeremiah A. Wright, Jr. was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He completed his elementary education in that city and then went to Virginia Union University. After three and a half years at Virginia Union, Pastor Wright left school and entered the United States Marine Corps. He transferred from the USMC into the United States Navy where he served as a cardiopulmonary technician.

After six years in the military, Pastor Wright transferred to Howard University where he completed his undergraduate studies and received his first Master’s Degree.
His second Master’s Degree was from the University of Chicago Divinity School. His Doctorate was received from the United Theological Seminary under Dr. Samuel DeWitt Proctor. In addition to Pastor Wright’s four earned degrees, he has been the recipient of eight honorary doctorates.

Rev. Dr. Jeremiah A. Wright, Jr. became Pastor of Trinity United Church of Christ (TUCC) on March 1, 1972. Within a matter of months he demonstrated an understanding and deep commitment to help TUCC achieve its motto and vision. The motto, "Unashamedly Black and Unapologetically Christian", was a phrase coined by his predecessor, the Reverend Dr. Reuben Sheares, and was officially adopted by the congregation shortly after Pastor Wright began his ministry.

Since 1972, under Dr. Wright’s leadership, the membership of Trinity United Church of Christ grew from 87 members; and currently exceeds 6,000! The membership continues to grow numerically and spiritually with large numbers of members tithing, studying in bible classes and serving in over 70 ministries offered to enhance the Christian journey.

Dr. Wright has lectured at seminaries and universities across the United States and has represented TUCC and The United Church of Christ around the world. He is recognized as a leading theologian and pastor and has published four books and numerous articles.

Dr. Wright shares his life and his ministry with his wife, Rev. Ramah Reed Wright, and is the father of four daughters: Janet Marie Moore, Jeri Lynne Wright, Nikol D. Reed and Jamila Nandi Wright; and one son, Nathan D. Reed. He is also the grandfather of three grandchildren; Jeremiah Antonio Haynes, Jazmin Lynne Hall and Steven L. Moore, Jr.

1. Obviously, The Marines hate America. Or else they would have been sure to have anal cysts...
and get lucrative contracts inflaming anti-American sentiment on the taxpayer dime over the Armed Forces Radio Network.

3. Obama gets more donations from the military than any other candidate.
I guess that would explain their hatred of him. :eyes:

10. If Wright had screamed "God Damn America! It's in the Bible!" in a room full of Marines...
... would they have cheered like Obama's Internet Followers are doing?

11. Rev Wright earned and has the right to express how he feels
Rev Wright joined the Marine Corps in a time when he was
viewed as inferior by society. He served his country in both
the Marine Corps and Navy (inter-service transfer). Marines
take an oath to support and defend the constitution, against
all enemies, foreign and DOMESTIC.

I agree that people (I use the term loosely) like Rush and
Hannity hide behind the flag on the lapel and all that other
BS doesn't really matter to this Marine. I think they would
start to question our motives for being in Iraq the first time
they saw a young American soldier with three of his limbs
blown off and missing half his face (he bled out and died on
the operating table). I will always be proud to be an
American, but I think I, along with the Marines that served
before me, have earned the right DAMN America if we don't
believe in our current policies and political leaders.

Semper Fi!

13. I wish Dean or someone would make the rounds and point this out
But then it might conflict with Obama's rejection of those particular clips.

I'm convinced that if it was McCain's pastor getting all this attention, the RW would stand up defiantly alongside the pastor, no matter what the pastor said.

15. He's a good man who made some wrong comments.
Given his lifespan, if this is the worst they can come up with, I think he's alright. For everything that he has done for the city of Chicago, especially the South Side community, I will not condemn him at all.
