Edited on Sun Mar-16-08 07:08 PM by KoKo01
a Better Candidate than her Husband.

C-Span Broadcast Michelle speaking to PA folks at a "Rally" for Obama and followed it with "Clinton Rally" with Bill talking to another audience.

Watching both it seemed to me that Michelle Obama managed to "TOP "BILL" (in issues facing all Americans) and that she spoke to the "TRUTH" about what's "WRONG WITH AMERICA." Michelle sounded like a Howard Zinn or Chomsky devotee...and Bill sounded......well like "dated...and tired."

Sorry ...that's what I saw watching C-Span.

3. right, because Michelle's job resume
Edited on Sun Mar-16-08 07:14 PM by adoraz
really tells you she is qualified to be President.

She hasn't even been in office anywhere.

Sorry, but your post makes absolutely no sense.

13. Interesting you say that...I see Michelle as what Hillary was way back
in 70's. But, Michelle is carrying the ball farther. I do see a similarity. She's very impressive. She's comfortable with herself in a way that I don't think Obama is..yet..or that Bill was back then.

I think these are STRONG WOMEN...but that they do love their husbands...they are just very complementary to them... The RADICAL SIDE...of years of COMPROMISE. Whatever...it's just my 2 cents about it...

as we all do.

I would say - on my VERY limited "acquaintance" she she is not at all ready for prime time and as a rather insular world view.

7. She's actually a better speaker in a lot of ways
She's more fluid with the language, a powerhouse, actually. She puts herself out there more than Barack; you feel you know her as a person when you've listened to her for an hour or so.

Barack is more of a wordsmith; he's also very careful with the language in the political way...which, among other things, keeps him out of some of the trouble that Michelle gets herself into.

An amazing duo, when you get right down to it.

15. A better candidate is able to relate to the majority - Zinn and Chomsky do not
The media has made both of the Democratic candidates spouses into a political liability however, while leaving Cindy McCain alone to sit like a pretty little plastic surgery princess on her gilded throne.

18. Cindy McCain...the vacuous Laura Bush clone. Standing by her Man
Edited on Sun Mar-16-08 08:25 PM by KoKo01
with her designer wardrobe and "hairstylist" who travels with them. She's the dutiful Lap dog/Lap Kitty...who just is there as a "shelf doll." She looks pretty...and always fresh ......but always a doormat. Typical Repug Wife.... "Be Seen and Not Heard." (that was what young women were told inhe early part of the 20th Century...! That was passed on to me by my very old Aunties..who repeated it over and over to me. :D

BUT... we will NEVER KNOW the REAL CINDY...and that's sad...WHO IS SHE? What about HER OWN ...INNER SELF?

17. oh and I have to disagree
lets just pretend their resumes were exactly the same. Barack would be better for a simple reason: Michelle has been saying stuff that has already created a bad name for herself and she isn't even running. If Barack said some of the stuff Michelle has said, I don't think he would be as far ahead of Hillary as he is today.

I like Michelle a lot, but she wouldn't get elected.

21. Bill
I thought Bill was a great candidate for his time, and I voted for him twice. He was young, charismatic, hopeful and lacking the progressive agenda that made his Administrations more palatable at what was probably the height (or near the height) of the Republican Revolution. He played nice with the pukes, despite dozens of frivolous lawsuits and dirty tricks. It was revealed last week that he sought compromise with Gingrich even toward the end. I would not vote for him now, however as I feel that we need an aggressive (even pushy) candidate who is dead serious and has the means to rebuild government functions (CIA, DOD, DOJ, EPA, health care) in a very short amount of time. She'll have to, or our inexorable slide will continue.

PS: it would be nice to see a Clinton at the helm with regard to the economy.

24. help
'... all the help we can get.' Which is why I'm sorry that there's not more support from the pundits regarding a unity ticket, in any combination. Cheney, bless his pointy little defibrilator, has at least shown us that a VP can be influential, and I can't help but wonder what progress we might make if we could take advantage of both Obama's and Hillary's best traits.

26. She is a great asset.
On occasion, she can be a better speaker. I love her fire. However, he has the better temperament to be President, and the ability to "bring people together" in ways she cannot and would not.

I am a strong Obama supporter, and I love them both, but I do not think Michelle would be the better candidate than Barack. I don't feel SHE even wants to be a candidate---ever---and that is why she can speak from her heart. What I also like about Barack is that he doesn't mind that she does it, and he knows it will get him in hot water from time to time.

He is not intimidated by strong women. He has an appreciation of them. I think that is why he has been so civil to Hillary, when I would not have been. He has inspired me want to be more civil to those with which I disagree.

Hillary is REALLY trying my patience, though.
