It bothers me that everyone keeps talking about "The Clintons"

As if they were the same person.

It seems to be an accepted assumption that since Hillary is Bill's wife she will essentially be Bill Clinton again if she wins.
Or maybe Bill-light.

She's tenacious like Bill, I'll give her that, but I don't see the same dynamics in her that were in Bill.

Bill Clinton had a smooth, confident way of presenting himself. He seemed to be able to absorb a huge amount of
opposition and just let it dissolve away inside.

Hillary is much more affected by stress. Her manner shifts in ways that Bill's didn't. She also gives the impression that
she's working at presenting herself while Bill, (and Obama), seem to do it without any conscious effort.

Just like elder and younger Bush have dramatically different regimes, I'm sure Hillary's would be dramatically different
from Bill's.

It doesn't really make sense to me to refer to, "The Clintons" in this context as if they were one and the same.

in regard to the good stuff that happened in his Presidency, while somehow distancing herself from the bad stuff. She's her own person, except when she's not, except when she is.

When you see the media report that Bill will be in Pittsburgh, while Hillary will be in Philly, that's a double plug. You don't hear them reporting Michele Obama's daily schedule do you?

18. Respect has to be earned. I used to call her Senator Clinton

but after her shameful campaign strategy (complete with Bill race baiting at her side), I just refer to them collectively as the Clintons. Also, Mrs. Clinton, Ms. Clinton, "that woman" when she really pisses me off, or sometimes HRC or by her first name.

Sorry, she lost my respect.

and I personally don't have a problem that Bill Clinton is her husband like other desperate people wanting to hate them as much as they possibly can. Such hope.

I thought that's what marriages are, a partnership. You go through life leaning on each other for support for one. Through the good and bad times and if she wants to bring her husband up she can.

22. For some people

that's a good thing. I know at least 3 people who are supporting HRC mainly because she brings Bill with her -- they all admit that they might not be supporting her if she weren't married to Bill. (No, I'm not asserting this is true of HRC supporters in general -- I'm talking about 3 people here.) Two of these are elderly Democrats who are pretty centrist and the idea of Bill being back in the White House in any capacity makes them comfortable. I asked one older woman if she'd vote for Obama in the primary if HRC didn't come with Bill as part of the package -- she wasn't sure. The only certainty was that she wouldn't vote for McCain -- she quite assertively insisted that she wouldn't vote Republican. She conceded she'd vote for whoever ended up being the Dem nominee but she hoped it'd be "Hillary & Bill."

Hillary's candidacy is unprecedented, as everyone knows. For those who oppose her to consistently portray her as "the wife" -- despite her long and very public history-- is an example of sexism in action.

My wife and I were in Maui back in 2004, and we attended a business function, a real small event for us, (about 300 people) but the parent company was huge. They booked Bush Sr to speak.

He opened his speech with a lot of humorous anecdotes, but midway through his speech, he segued into an analysis of his son's 1st term. He said some very unflattering things and actually projected some anger. Everyone in the audience, you could tell, was feeling the same thing.

Along the way, he said when was President, he was at San Fransisco for some function, and a group of anti-abortion protesters were picketing very loudly right next to his limo. Apparently a lady, whom he described as "extrordinarily unattractive" stuck her head into his limo window and screamed "STAY OUT OF MY WOMB!!!" He said, "Noooooo problem, lady." (I hope LulaMay doesn't read this)

During that story, he even said, "of course that was when you were allowed to actually protest properly." That told me a lot about what he thought of his demon seed. :)
