Are Wright's sermons the campaign WMD that the GOP need to win
If the GOP and its surrogates could drag down a bona fide war hero what will they do with this material in the fall?

1. Of course not.
You'd think Obama said the things himself from the way you carry on.

3. So you don't think the GOP will be able to use them
to attack him in effective ways in the fall?

5. Why will they have to, when you will do the job for them now?
How about focusing on the real enemy for a change instead of figuring out new and inventive ways to justify their lunacy?

8. Keep your accusations to yourself. This is primary season and
personally I find Wright's rants hate filled and disturbing in many many ways. (I am bit shocked at the close association of Obama with such crap truth be told.)
The real enemy is the GOP. We have to win in November. We can't win with a wounded warrior. I don't think this stuff is going away.

9. Hillary is far more flawed than Obama.
She can't even beat him, so exactly how is she supposed to beat McCain?

22. Just close your eyes and hope really, really, really hard.
That'll win the election for us!

We'll be just like Pollyanna playing the Glad Game!

2. americans for the most part have learned their lesson
from the swift boating of last election. They are somewhat more honest in their deeply held views of right and wrong then the typical Clinton supporter on this board.

So I say no.

17. Would be nice. And I wish. One test of their maturity will be
when they are ready to elect an atheist for president.

4. I'm dying over here! You people slay me!
Edited on Sat Mar-15-08 07:09 AM by TwoSparkles
You couldn't dig up enough dirt on Obama, so now you're going after the people
that he knows.

Gee. Doesn't this look a bit pathetic?

What's next..."Story at 11! Obama's dog groomer gets parking ticket!"

I have a good friend who is an Evangelical Christian. Her teenage daughters
babysit my children. She believes all of the right-wing nonsense that is
thrown out there about Obama, and we often have very spirited discussions.

Two nights ago I asked her, "About a month ago, you were concerned that Obama
was a Muslim, you don't still think that do you?"

She replied, "No. Obama explained all of that, but now I'm concerned about his
pastor and his church."

So, here we go again---another lathered up scandal that has, once again--taken in
some people, like my friend.

But you know what? This pastor thing will become yesterdays debunked, old-news, scandal
that will affect NO ONE--within a week or so. Just like the, "Obama is a Muslim"
garbage, this pastor chapter will be filed into the trash heap and written off as another
failed Hillary ploy.

And then...in a week or two--after this manufactured hysteria is deflated--you'll come
up with something else.

Lather. Rinse. Repeat.

It's all Hillary has got. All she can do is attack, and follow the Rovian playbook--and hope that
she can shred "hope" and "change" through lies, distortions and puffed-up rumormongering.

It's official, the Hillary campaign is no longer a political organization...it's a sorority house!

You just can't make this stuff up, folks! Desperation brings out the loony tunes in some people.

He was stammering, backpedaling. The gleam in his eye was gone. Deer in the headlights.

16. Have you informed the electorate of this constitution thingy?
I understand Obama was brought up atheist by his mother who sounds like a truly amazing woman.

Personally I wish he had stuck to his roots and not gone down this religious route.

20. Impossible to know at this point
but the comparison to Kerry is a poor one. JK set himself up for that one- I knew that the minute he did the ghastly "reporting for duty" thing at the convention. And he failed to respond well to attacks. Obama, I believe, is a better politician than JK, but we'll see over the next couple of weeks.

I dunno.

25. Well, just my opinion, but
When I watched the videos of Rev. Wright it scared me quite a bit. How that will effect voters in general I have no idea but I just know how I felt seeing them.
