Obama told us tonight....
that he sat in the pews for 17 years and NEVER heard Rev. Wright speak like the tapes show him speaking. That every time Obama attended church the Rev. spoke of Christ, Christianity etc. Sorry Obama supporters, I don't believe him. That is such an outrageous lie I just have no words.

or do you have other reasons? If you love Hillary, have you posted one thread to support her?

60. I often try to bring reality into Obama threads. He is not the great one
Obama supporters think he is. He fell tonight big time and as someone who wants a Democratic President I felt it too.

I didn't know it was my job to post threads to support Hillary. Maybe I should just check with you to make sure what I say is acceptable with you. :eyes:

How does this lie compare to the plethora of Clinton's lies about far more deadly, serious or relevant issues?

He's supposed to give hope. If he lies he is no better than any other politician. That's why the lie is so devastating for him.

70. You love the
message, but how about the messenger? Don't you feel a like you been duped at all? Seriously. Obama only denounces his friends and mentor of 20 years only when they became a political liability. If Obama wants to be an inspirational speaker, he shouldn't credit some lunatic preacher as being his inspirational leader and teacher. Don't you see anything wrong with this picture????

8. How do you know that Wright was pretty consistent over the years,
but occasionally got mad?

One apparently was after 911 - everybody had strong emotions.

The other was about Hillary and Barack - that situation does not happen very often, in fact it is the first time there is a credible black candidate.

If the GOP + the Clintons + the MSM in this unholy alliance clusterfuck can't take Barack down, I say Hilly accepts her second prize canned ham and goes home.

Barack is doing everything right in dealing with this, in fact gave a wonderful interview on Anderson Cooper's show, the second half of the interview going into depth on race and religion and politics. He is a brilliant man. Barack took what some folks here hope is a death blow to his candidacy and turned it into an opportunity in that great interview.

Hell, I would not be surprised to find out he had leaked this to get it out there now with five weeks before Pennsylvania and to show the superdelegates he can handle the GOP + McCain + the Clintons + MSM with one hand tied behind his back.

He has run a spectacular campaign and watching him work really makes me tingly. I had no idea he would perform this brilliantly, and the Democratic Party is so amazingly lucky to have a voice like his at this particular time in our history.

I'm starting to have a good time again. Cheers.

54. your life will change dramatically
for the first few months, Sundays may be the only days you get to sleep in shifts. (unless you're both in the position to take the FMLA - if you are, I strongly recommend it. Your wife is going to need a lot of help even if she doesn't want to admit it.)

My baby BF for an hour every other hour for the first 3 weeks. I was a zombie. I was also totally paranoid about having a clean house - so I was either holding the baby or if someone else was holding the baby I was frantically trying to clean, wash laundry, read all the lit from the hospital, fill out baby book, etc. and get a nap and a snack here and there.

When Dr. Jeremiah Wright, Jr. recently retired as senior pastor at Trinity UCC, I emailed him that I considered him the best theologian, hands down, I had ever heard from the pulpit. And believe me, I’ve heard a lot of preaching in my life.

...every Sunday because they don't GO every Sunday.

I can relate to everything Obama says, I'm a member of a VERY large church with a very famous pastor and I don't know EVERYTHING he says either.

Hmmm, I just can't relate to someone who says over a 20 yr period that a person will remember or see every speech etc that another person says or even that they say themselves

43. Despite being a Clinton supporter,
I don't care what Rev. Wright has said in the past or continues to say.

I don't criticize Obama for not paying especially close attention to the doctrine of the church to which he belonged. Many Americans don't truly understand all of the specifics of their particular denomination.

I don't care that Obama is more religious than I am and makes use of a "spiritual advisor."

I DO care, however, if Obama, having now been informed about the tenets of that church, continues as a member. It will be a significant problem for him, because the Africa-first tenet and the "only identify with blacks" tenet directly conflict with what Americans have a right to expect from a President. Renouncing Wright's most outrageous statements was not necessary and was not enough because it was not the issue. The only important point is Obama's membership in a church with a racist doctrine. If he dissociates himself from that church, the issue loses all significance for me. If not . . .

67. Obama offended
many Americans tonight by half sticking up for this so-called pastor. He did not act like he was even the slightest bit pissed off at all. Obama is a fraud. He can dupe his followers, but the majority of people who watched these rantings and the half-ass apologies of Mr. Hope are outraged. Go to any forum, and read for yourselves. Obama camp is in deep shit. On CNN tonight, they said follow-up is essential; and will be investigating further. If Obama was in "church" when this guy was spewing hatred, that would the end of Obama's camp for sure.
