I watched a bit of Blitzer show and was taken aback, again, by him referring to Brazile as a "Democratic strategic." Except for the failed Gore campaign, after trying to make him an Alpha male or a Beta or an Epsilon Male - don't remember - what winning strategy does she have behind her?
Clearly she supports Obama - she is a super delegate - but is clever enough to hide this fact as long as she can, so that, in contrast to others, she can keep her cushy job.
She commented about the "integrity" of Obama after his "letter" about brother Jeremiah
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/barack-obama/on-my-faith-and-my-church_b_91623.htmland two items jumped immediately:
First, "I categorically denounce any statement that disparages our great country or serves to divide us from our allies."
Oh yeah? What about fair Michelle with her "first time proud of my country" and "So if you want to pretend like there was some point over the last couple of decades when your lives were easy, I want to meet you!”
Aren't these disparaging remarks about our country, or is trashing the Clinton years is considered acceptable?
Second: "I believe that Americans will judge me not on the basis of what someone else said,"
Well, they already have. The phrase "The Audacity of Hope" we now learn came from brother Jeremiah. And you presented them as your own and ran with it and electrified many young people with them. Yes, this is not what you meant, but the result is the same.
About Oprah? Oh, just add her to the happy family. After the bruising defeat in 2004 (where are the DU archives from 2001-2004, BTW?) when many thought that we need to find someone who is more down to earth, not "aloof" and "elitist" (read, used multisyllables words), some suggested Oprah. She way back then suggested Obama and, of course, rallied the masses for him. And, yes, I don't think she would have put so much effort had he been white.
But that's OK. All the white candidates in the past 232 years had white promoters so there..
