As a long time supporter of the Presidential campaigns of Dennis Kucinich I think I would be a hypocrite if I were to call for the withdrawal of Hillary Clinton from the present primary fight. Over and over I have argued that long-shot bids serve the democratic process and strengthen both the Party and our candidates. It would be silly for me to change my tune now.
Therefore I hereby declare that Hillary should stay in the race as long as she likes, regardless of the delegate count or the odds of winning. Go nuts Hillary - ride that train all the way to Denver.
(For the record, I do think Hillary's tactics have been way out of line. Praising the Republican candidate at the expense of a Democratic opponent and complicity in racial mud-slinging - among other abuses - are uncool, to say the least. The comparison to a long-shot Kucinich campaign ends when one examines tactics. I hope that's clear.)
But clean up your act Hillary... and I have no beef if you wanna keep speaking 'til the audience has all left the building. Knock yourself out. Many people I admire have done the same. Far be it from me to suggest dropping the curtain.
