Did Kerry set a trap for * and his media whores re: military records?
For a couple of days his campaign said it wouldn't release all his military records. Of course this was enough to send the bushistas and their media minions into a feeding frenzy. Then, Kerry suddenly "relents" and the full and glorious story of bravery and honor is revealed for all to see on his website! Plus, he's gotten the whores to advertise his website, where no doubt many, who've never been there, went out of curiosity to see the records. While looking at his impeccable records they also could view the websit, get an idea of how terrific Kerry is, and even contribute to the campaign! On top of this the * fools look like they question the validity of Purple Hearts and have offended numerous veterans and their families TO NO AVAIL!

Trap set - sprung! :D

7. That would make sense if:
these good records made as much news as the questions did.

And there was so much negative talk out about purple hearts, etc, that it is now out there, & people may have gotten the wrong impression.

Many people dont look at things in depth; they catch soundbites.

15. Look for (m)Ann Coulter to opine that "only cowards get a Purple Heart.
Heroes come home dead. And smart people like bush & Cheney don't go to war in the first place. So, if you think about it, Kerry is a stupid coward...just like Max Cleland."

who could get him in the military and not make him serve a day of time in real service. Yeah, that sounds like Coulter's reasoning.

8. I think you've hit that nail on the ol' head...
I just read the Reuters article praising Kerry's war record. Then Reuters thoughtfully provided as contrast Bush*'s reluctance to come up with documentation and mentioned that the papers he did provide proved nothing. First thought in my head was "Heh heh...be careful of what you wish for, Rove."
That trap bit them dead on the ass. :D

9. Kerry's military records haven't found their way to freeperville yet
I just wanted to see what the knuckle draggers over in freeperville had to say about Kerry's records since they all were trashing him and saying he didn't deserve his metals.

Nothing about it yet over there.

11. AWOL* attacking Kerry's record? Bring it On!
I think this will backfire big time. It's one thing to say Kerry flip flips on Senate votes since they can get away with that to some extent because of thousands of votes cast and the twisting of the truth BUT to take on his military is stupid. It's not like Kerry's Dad was some political bigwig who pulled some strings to get his son a few Purple Hearts. You get a Purple Heart if you get wounded you don't / can't cheat to get one.

Bush should be running away from any mention of anybody's military record. Does he want his AWOL records discussed again? I think they will in light of Kerry's being reviewed now.

And when Kerry selects Clark as VP we will be able to compare the military records of the two tickets. Kerry/Clark vs Bush/Cheney or
Hero/General vs AWOL/Avoided Service.

Bring it on!

26. Kerry Vs Bush Military Decorations
As an amateur cartoonist I'm working on the following.

Kerry:

Bronze Star, Silver Star, Purple Hearts

Bush:

A lollipop from his dentist

Not to mention the Papst Blue Ribbon and the Silver Coke Spoon)

12. Be careful
Kerry said they were available at his campaign headquarters, then they weren't released until 24 hours later, after a higher ranking officer said Kerry didn't deserve his purple heart. Be ware the Freepers who will try to smash you with this. This is all that rush and hannity are talking about.

16. This higher ranking officer was not on the boat when
Kerry's injury occurred. He happens to be a Republican and like most Republicans is a god damn liar. He said Kerry's wound looked like a fingernail scratch and but Dr's report tells the real story. Sorry.

14. Good thoughts. We're so quick to give props to the R's when they
sucker punch us but we never seem to get it when our side pulls the same kind of maneuver and it works. In fact, most of us jump in to moan and complain that Kerry screwed up and doesn't have a cohesive strategy. Quite the opposite.

Kerry is doing well. He's getting out of the way of current events and letting them hurt bush without getting down in the gutter with bush. Kerry said he would respond to the bush smears. What he *didn't* say was that he would respond *in the same way* to every attack.

This feint worked brilliantly. It made the R's look like a bunch of whining idiots desperate for an issue. Kerry swatted it down. End of story. Kerry wins. bush has mud on his face.

And all this at a time when R Hagel is talking about The Draft!! I'll bet draft-dodger bush is just salivating at debating the draft with war hero Kerry, especially when it's a member of his own party who is making it an issue!

Props to the Kerry people.

17. Ed Gillespie looked pretty stupid on CNN today.
And poor Judy was looking for his guidance on how to spin this story. All Ed could say that ws it was time that Kerry released his records like Bush released his medical records (read dental).

20. He mocked Kerry for taking two days to get his papers released, yet
how long did it take Bush to release his after Russert asked him about it on MTP? Seems to me it was a slow drip that ended with focking DENTAL RECORDS to prove he ONCE saw a dentist in Alabama that year.

29. Yes, he did
There was never a question that Kerry's military record would expose Bush for the fraud that he is. It's nice to see Kerry using the media to slap Bush around with it as well.
