Many UCC churches have done weddings for gay people since at least that time, and 2006's General Synod officially came down in support of legalizing gay marriages.

Of course, the structure of the UCC leaves the decision of whether to perform a gay marriage to each individual congregation, since Synod only speaks to and not for the local churches.

The UCC has a good percentage of gay and lesbian pastors. I know of at least one congregation, probably more, that have two ministers who are lesbian and married to each other.
