Nader Submits for Federal Matching Funds
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
April 21, 2004

Nader Submits for
Federal Matching Funds

Washington, DC: Nader for President 2004 today filed a threshold
submission with the Federal Election Commission showing it has met the
requirements for Federal matching funds. The campaign submitted
documents demonstrating it had raised more than $5,000 in 23 states. The
requirement for matching funds is $5,000 in 20 states in donations of
$250 or less.

“Unlike the major party candidates we are not dialing for corporate
dollars. We are seeking a broad base of support among the people.” said
Independent Presidential candidate Ralph Nader.

Theresa Amato, Nader 2000 and 2004 campaign manager noted: “The Nader
Campaign is two months earlier than we submitted in 2000.” In addition,
to submitting for matching funds the campaign reported that it had
raised triple the amount of funds Nader had raised at this point in the
2000 campaign. As of the end of March 2004, 91% of the donations
received by Nader for President 2004 were under $100.

The states included in the campaign’s filing are Arizona, California,
Colorado, Connecticut, the District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia,
Illinois, Indiana, Massachusetts, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, North
Carolina, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Texas,
Virginia, Washington and Wisconsin.

5. The only rational comment

6. I thought you had to get a % of the vote in the primaries?
What was the deal with Ross Perot getting a certain % of the vote so he qualified for "something"?

BTW, 5 of those states won't matter: Ca. Ga. NC. TX. Va.
