2. No one can accuse Kerry of being timid, that's for sure
He's taking it right at Bush on every subject, even military service, dropping the pretended "polite respect" attitude politicians usually have. He almost sounds like a DUer at times.

4. Exactly

This is why I'm started to get rather irritated at those who seem to have nothing better to do than bash Kerry for not taking a stand.

The man is taking a stand. The problem is that the press, especially the televised press, is not showing it. Someone this morning posted a breakdown of Bush vs. Kerry coverage, and it showed how the three major news networks (Faux, CNN, and MSNBC) would break away from Kerry speeches to show something else, but they'd play Bush comments out in their entirety, even when he wasn't really saying anything.

As far as I can tell, Kerry's been picking up steam almost every day, and he's hitting Bush where he's weakest. This is a good thing.

5. I don't think that's a good enough excuse
Kerry's attacks are getting airplay. Those who attack Kerry as not taking a stand have to be ignoring him on purpose. I get suspicious at this point when a DUer makes such a patently untrue statement. Some may really be clueless, but I suspect infiltration at times.

Were you here a year or so ago when all the Nader supporters were bashing the Democrats? They would attack Gore continuously as being DLC, until Gore bowed out of the race. Then a lot of the same people starting claiming that Gore was forced out by the DLC because he was too liberal. No way they were being honest.

There are more than one agenda on DU.

6. Thank God, it's about time
someone mentioned the environment. As an environmentalist I am sick and tired of having the single most important issue on the planet ignored. Thank you Kerry!
