At what point will Clinton give up and/or her supporters realize it is over?
Sometime after Pennsylvania?

Summer?

Dragged kicking and screaming from the convention floor?

Never?

Look, I voted for Clinton on Super Teusday and helped her carry Oklahoma. But it is OVER folks. The people have spoken. She cannot win without a super delegate reversal of the popular vote. Period.

In terms of states won, delegates amassed or even popular vote totals, it is over.

I, as a member of the DEMOCRATIC party, was taught to love and respect elections. Remember our dear friend Nancy Pelosi and her prophetic words: "Elections have consequences." Hillary Clinton put up a good fight and until the last week or so it was a decent fight. Now it has spiraled into a nightmare of depressing lies, innuendos and smears.

Repeat after me:

IT

IS

OVER.

The sooner she realizes it, and her supporters embrace that reality, we can begin to focus our attention, united and energized to beat the Republicans in November.

5. Weoll, then that's one for "dragged kicking and screaming from the floor"
Because, your loud and disruptive ilk will be told to STFU when the super delgates enforce the will of the people and give him 2425 (or whatever the4 exact number is inlcuding MI and FL)

And they will NOT reverse the will of the people.

IT

IS

OVER.

92. A long, protracted fight is exactly what HRC is threatening.
She has the right to do it, no doubt. Obama is only the likely nominee. He doesn't have it wrapped up.

But is it really useful to have a long, protracted fight? Only if you believe BO doesn't stand a chance of winning in the GE. Is that what you believe? Some do, I know.

In the spirit of open dialog ...

27. I was very energized about Hillary's campaign
Donated, canvassed, etc.

But the fact is the people have spoken.

It is mathematically impossible for Clinton to surpass Obama and when they meet at the convention, he'll have the lead in stares, votes, and pldged delegates.

The only way she can win is to have the supers reverse the popular sentiment of the most people.

To me, that means it is over.

30. Not even close to over
Get the facts straight -- neither can win solely on pledged delegates, and it's neck and neck when it comes to the popular vote. SD's are supposed to vote their preference. Let's hope they do. That's what they are there for -- to save us from media hype of rethugs invading our primary process, which they have done.

Its not neck and neck, you are counting votes that are never happened.

If you really think we are going to put forth a nomination based on a election where one of the candidates WAS NOT ON THE BALLOT, you are asking for the massive loss to McCain that is coming.

Enough with the spin and useless cheating. End it.

There is only one election to chose the nominee. It is held at the convention. There are about 4048 voters, and majority rules.

All these state contests are to chose delegates to participate in that election.

The election is held in August and it is the only election that exists for the Democratic Party presidential nominee.

Unless you have reason to think the nominee will not be the one winning the most votes cast at the convention, can the self-righteous "I respect elections" stuff.

25. Same thing can be said about caucuses
Look, pledged delegates get 2/3 of the say. When they split pretty much evenly it gets decided by the supers. The primaries so far have not shown one candidate to be the choice of the people. Facts are they are split 50/50 when all the votes are counted. And in fact if we had actual primaries in every state instead of caucuses they'd be even up on pledged delegates or HRC would be ahead. I'm sick to death of this "will of the people" crap from BO supporters. You don't give a damn about the will of the people -- if you did you wouldn't pretend that MI and FL voters don't exist.

58. Ridiculous and Intellectually Dishonest. Your argument is desperate.
We all know that Michigan and Florida do not count as official, legitimate primaries. Even the states themselves are admitting this as they figure out how to run new primaries.

But even if we were to consider adding Florida (which is inherently unfair), Obama is credited with NO votes in Michigan because his name wasn't on the ballot.

Do you really, honestly think Obama wouldn't have gotten more than 20,000 votes if he was on the ballot?

You can't think that. You don't think that.

But that's part of your desperate argument.

And that tells me you don't have much more to brag about these days. Why let facts get in the way of your desperate, repetitive, wrongheaded argument?

28. She should drop out now for the good of the Democratic party.
Like you said, there's no way she can win anyways. She's just prolonging the inevitable.

33. Exactly. I took me a ciouple of weeks for it to sink in.
Then I realized it was over and that was that.

Time to move on.

This clinging to the dead bosy and sobbing uncontrollably won't bring it back.

Her candidacy is DOA folks.

IT

IS

OVER.

56. That's strange -- she's winning the popular vote by nearly 20K votes
That doesn't sound like over to me. She is very likely to win PA, SD, IN, KY, and MT.

69. BO supporters sound like Bushbots -- DON'T COUNT THE VOTES!!!
http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2008/president/democratic_vote_count.html

You can deny it like the Bushbots denied it in 2000, but more people have voted for HRC than Obama. That is a fact.

Until then, they haven't voted.

57. How close?
Quantify it.

Say he still has a 165 delegate lead heading to Denver?

Is that enough?

Do we have to fight it out on the floor old school?

Do we have to resort to back room deals?

When is it over for you?

61. I heard her in PA today - she was very good I wonder who wrote the speech for her - Still for Obama
 Who can say when or if they will give up. I guess it is up to them. I hope Obama gives a speech that is geared just to PA since he has 6 weeks to get ready. She hit every one of the things that they are wanting. Like I said if someone knows who wrote the speech I would love to know.

93. When its clear that a Democrat no longer has a chance to win in November...
Just a two or three weeks ago I would never have said this, but clearly Hillary has decided its better to grind Obama into the dirt even if it brings the entire Democratic party down. So yeah, she'll only be quitting either when Obama has fully won it, or when she realizes the Democrats no longer have a good chance to win in November.

94. She doesn't have to win to win. He has to LOSE.
If Obama loses the general election in November '08, that paves the way for an "I told you so" run by Hillary in 2012. If he wins in November, the keys to White House will never be in her hands again, and that's unacceptable. She'll concede that she's lost when he's sworn in as president, and not a second before. If McCain wins against Obama, Hillary wins. If Hillary wins against McCain Hillary wins.

Those are her terms of victory.

Party's chance of winning the White House - that way she figures she can run again in 2012. Either that or she'll be McCain's VP and run in 2012. There is NIO doubt in my mind that she figures it's my way or the highway, the party and the country be damned!

99. Obama supporters were spewing the same stuff before Texas and Ohio.
The popular vote is quite close. She could overtake him.

When it is over, it will be so obvious that people won't need to say it. The more people say it (and the more enthusiastically), the clearer it is that it is NOT over.

Even then there will still be a few supporters in denial.

I'm ready for all of us to rally around the nominee and move on to dismantling Insane McCain piece by piece.
