Good news about our chances in '04 Senate and House races!
The Pukes have overplayed their hand, as usual, and here comes the backlash :D (hope, hope).

1. That's hopeful
but I think Pete Coors is going to be a real challenge. I'm kinda dissapointed. I was looking forward to working on the winning Salazar campaign, now it's going to be a real battle, I think. However, perhaps I underestimated Salazar's popularity. I didn't know he won 60 out of 64 counties in his last election. That's good.

5. Generally speaking
I don't think Attorney Genrals in states have that high of profiles. While, I do notknow much about Colorado's situation I would think that that kind of a race would mainly reflect name recognition and endorsements by groups and news papers and so forth. My opinion is that looking at Salazar's picture is that he is not particularly mediagenic and that would be a problem in a high profile race like Senator. Then again it would depend on a lot of other factors as well.

7. Salazar does have some popularity
I think a lot of it comes from the fact that we're always involved in "bloody" legal fights with Kansas, Nevada and California. We're always fighting over water rights. Plus he was in the news when the Repubs. tried to gerrymander our state. I think that besides the governor, he's the most visible state official.

13. Which water wars were Salazar
involved in? Yep, the western states fight about water, but what did he advocate?

14. I don't follow it very closely,
but I assume he just advocated for Colorado in all the water wars we've had. All I know is we're always gettin' sued, and he defends us.

4. I wish we could get Fritz Hollings to stick it out for another term

SC is probably the seat most likely to go Republican. Graham staying in would be nice as well. With Georgia there's really no loose for us in Zell retireing since he's just another Republican. Honestly I think we should get Max Cleland to run again there. Now that the Iraq war has gone so bad I think he might be looking more appealing than he was last time around. But I still like our chances for a democratic senate in 2004. Would be a great backup to fight off right wing judicial nominees if Kerry isn't elected.

I'm a member of a group that is trying, but Perdue is as bad a Bush in keeping disagreement out of the picture.

That's what I was afraid of. It's the same in FL, and probably Texas.

6. Great news...winning the White House is a necessity
but unless we can win back the Senate, Kerry won't be able to do much more than put a halt to the crap that comes out of a Republican controlled Congress.

8. That would indeed be good news!
With a White House win as well, Kerry would be in a position to get a lot of good work done.

Be still my heart ..
