This isn't about the Presidential primary, but this is about an election yesterday.

I'm posting this in here because I'm so damned happy. This was an election yesterday in Illinois' 14th Congressional district. Which just happens to be the district that Dennis Hastert represented for years. This district is as conservative and Republican as it can be. And yesterday...the Democratic candidate, Bill Foster, WON. This is big. And I think this is a very good omen for our Congressional and Senate races this November.

It had nothing to do with the fact that Foster was a good candidate. That he is a scientist, a successful businessman, an articulate spokesman for the Democrats. The fact that many major IL newspapers endorsed him. The fact that Durbin endorsed him. It could never have been an anti Bush vote or an anti Hastert vote, it's all about Obama. Yep, it was on Obama's coattails all right because his name was right there next to Fosters on the ballot. And after all, the world, the country, the state of IL and the 14th revolves around Obama. :sarcasm:

8. It's impossible to know how much Obama helped Foster but

is indisputable that he helped. He filmed an ad with him. He shared his email list. He's popular in Illinois. You may not want to admit that Obama helped, but indeed he did.

In any case, it's a great win and a symbolic and real slap at the repukes.

6. No, she won't. She may actually help quite a bit.

This party is about to decisively kick the Clintons to the curb, and probably the entire DLC 17-state strategy along with them. A lot of disillusioned former voters will see that as a signal that the Democrats are finally turning the corner toward becoming a true party of the people.
