1. The relationship is so many generations back, that
pretty much every one of us who has any English blood at all is related to both of them.

This is why I so hate when people say ignorant shit like 'My family history goes back to Henry V!" I always want to say, "Idiot, pretty much anyone with any English blood is related to Henry V."

I'm related to Churchill. Does that make me interesting? No. not really, and also it doesn't mean anything. My grandmother, after my granfather died after the sixteenth child was born, went on welfare. And that was in the 1930s, the time when Churchill was coming into power.

Blood relationships are, for the most, amazingly irelevant, except for those in the family line who are actually part of the line that inherits the stuff.

But talking about generations from back in the 1500s and 1600s is just so much elitist masturbation as opposed to anything actually relevant to Easter, the passion, Christmas, Good Friday, Maundy Thursday, etc.

2. A LOUD THANK YOU! Well said. If I said you took the words right out of
my mouth that would be a lie. The words out of your mouth said it ten times better.

4. And it's completely irrelevant
About half of US presidents have had New England ancestry, and an awful lot of them have colonial ancestors in common. It would be far stranger if Bush and Kerry weren't distantly related than that they are.

If you're interested, you can run through the links on candidates' ancestries here: http://members.aol.com/wreitwiesn/candidates2004/

You'll find that Kerry is also related to Teddy Roosevelt and FDR, J.P. Morgan and General Douglas McArthur, Calvin Coolidge and Herbert Hoover, Bette Davis and William Holden, Patrick Swayze and Clint Eastwood, Adlai Stevenson and Hugh Hefner, Harriet Beecher Stowe and Susan B. Anthony, Tennessee Williams and (allegedly) Marilyn Monroe, Archibald Cox and Winston Churchill.

6. It disgusts me
that they say, they both "share similar life achievements".

Bush has achieved absolutely nothing in his life.

Still, the family tree is kinda interesting.
