14. I've been boycotting Coors for some time now.
First it was their non-union practices.

Then their support of the homophobic Ammendment 2 in Colorado.

But mostly just because it tastes like SHIT!

The stench is even worse. I live a mile from the old Olympia Brewery and while I don't care for the beer that was made there, I can't say the place ever smelled bad. But when I visited Golden Colorado a couple years ago, it smelled like something DIED within a mile of that place. The stench was most foul and it wasn't just their right wing politics! I'll never drink anything that came from that brewery again.

2. The Coors family is practically responsible for the rise of the right wing
Edited on Wed Apr-07-04 03:56 PM by Caution
This guy's father pretty much started the right wing movement in America. Don't let this maniac into office.

Nice little link on this maniac's father:

5. I support Mike Miles
Unfortunately, it looks like we've been sold the other Dem, much like we were sold a presidential nominee.

Kanary, tired of being on the losing side.......

6. Don't sweat it....
Miles is great, but Salazar is the best shot we have by a long margin. Colorado is not going to be easy to turn.

I hope the GOP gets into a primary fight, but it seems we may have to fight Coors instead of Schaeffer.

10. Aw dammit
Now we're going to have to deal with Mr. Beer with huge name recognition. Before our only opponent was an old Congressman. This sucks huge. This fight just got 20 times harder.

11. I don't see it that way.
The spectre of Uncle Adolf is too much, I think, and will help mobilize an already energized CO Dem party.

Besides, the Salazars are a known quantity that even the apolitical folks out here like -- Salazar is personable, and known for talking to random constituents as AG and solving their problems for them within a few days of talking. That stuff gets around.

Coors won't have a prayer out here on the Western Slope for just that reason.

15. I sure hope you're right.
I'm worried that he'll have an Arnold type effect. I'm worried that some people will step into the booth and think "hey, beer man!" and vote for Coors. Furthermore, he's loaded with cash. Of course if he loses the nomination fight it won't matter.

Makes me even happier I switched from the Rockies to the Red Sox four years ago.
