Did Rezko find jobs for Obama staffers?

Did Barack Obama use indicted campaign fund-raiser Tony Rezko as a conduit to get jobs for people in Gov. Blagojevich's administration?

The question arises from a list of 39 people Rezko's lawyers said in a court filing he urged Blagojevich to give state jobs.

Among those on the list were two people who appear to have Obama links and a third who's now an Obama presidential campaign staffer.

But did the names come from Obama? His campaign staff's short answer: Don't know -- but it's possible.

"We do not know how decisions were made to fill specific state positions, and we have no records of any individual recommendations we were asked to make or made," says Obama spokesman Bill Burton "But we do know that Tony Rezko, among others, was helping to gather names for the positions coming open with a new administration, and, if it is established any names came through our office, we would have no reason to doubt it."

1. Problem is, Obama only has rezko to worry about.
Clinton has a whole slew of shady dealings to deal with before she is even half-way vetted.

BTW, if you keep seeing the same response over and over, it may be a sign that people are on to your spamming. Just sayin'.

he is supposed to be different. this indicates that he is not. that creates a serious problem when your entire campaign is based off of that fact.

16. Texas Hill Country is 100% correct...
Obama is supposed to be "above the fray", a "different kind of politician", but clearly he is not, which is what this is about. Everytime Rezko is mentioned on DU, the Obama supporters say "but Hillary is so slimey...blah blah blah". Guess most of the Obama supporters would rather turn the other cheek than admit he might not be they guy he wants you to think he is.

23. It was said that they had not found anything
to prove Obama did favors for
Rezko but, there was plenty to
show that Rezko did favors for
Obama.
Now why would a dirty dealer like
Rezko keep doing favors for Obama
with nothing in return?

7. I hadn't heard this before.
I'm sure the trial will bring out all sorts of possibilities. Hopefully, Barack didn't use his influence to benefit Rezko. The house thing won't stick in the long run. If you listen to some in the media, it's a done deal that Barack committed a crime. I, myself, am waiting to hear more.

Imagine the Democratic front-runner testifying in a trial of his "friend"...

does not want to call Obama but said it reserves the right. Prosecution did not say yes or no.

11. hiring people is now against the law?
And this is connected to Senator Obama how? The jobs these people held, were to do something illegal? Jobs by way of reference, illegal?
Did Rezko and Obama place the heads of horses in their beds, to force employment for these people?

20. Is it possible this is a Faux News question?
There are "two people who appear to have Obama links."

Linked in what way? And, if they are linked in some way, was Obama pushing for their hiring?

Drip is right. This is one of the drippiest posts I've read in a very long time. No facts, just lots of speculation aimed at the Democratic front-runner.

It is apparent that HRC and her supporters will stop at nothing to take down a good Democrat, including making it more likely that a Republican will become President. I am so done with her.

25. No one really knows anything about Obama..
Edited on Fri Mar-07-08 08:48 PM by Tellurian
except what he's written about himself. Even then, he's said he's embellished the character in the book (who btw is supposed to be him)to make for a more interesting story. So, when all is said and done, calling Obama a good democrat is no more than someone's opinion. His record on Veteran's Affairs is despicable, yet he promotes himself as a soldiers best friend and done more than any other Senator on behalf of soldiers returning from the Iraq War and worked to improve Veteran's Benefits.

(just keep those campaign donations rolling in.)

27. Sigh...more Chicago Sun-Times spin
So what you and the Sun-Times are trying to tell us is that missing a vote that you support because you know there is no chance it will fail is the same as not caring about veterans? Check the vote counts. These were cakewalk, rubber-stamp votes that had no chance of being defeated. 92-1 yeas to nays in one case, a unanimous vote in another, etc.

If that's the kind of thin attack we can expect from Ms. Clinton and her supporters, her chances are getting slimmer by the hour.
