1. As Governor of Arkansas
he had some dealings (border disputes) with Louisiana and Louisiana is a foreign country.

8. Tons. In 92, Gore was an internationally recognized leader in arms control and the environment
He was on the House Intelligence Committee staring in 1980, and the Senate Armed Services Committee starting in 1986.

If you read "Earth In The Balance" (which many people thought was the beginning of his 1992 primary campaign), you'll see him mention a lot of the work he did overseas.

His (archived) 2000 campaign website lists a few of his major foreign policy accomplishments:

4. Well, he did obey GHWBush's orders to ignore the CIA drugrunning operations being run out of
Arkansas as they had to do SOMETHING with all those tons of cheap IranContra cocaine they were saddled with at the time.

Black communities all across the country were targeted most heavily for the dumping - and that report came out in 1996 from Pulitzer Prize winning reporter Gary Webb and was verified by CIA documents presented in court in 1998. Too bad America was too involved with the saga of a blue dress and didn't notice.

6. One of the few elections in which issue #1 was not foreign policy/national security
Edited on Fri Mar-07-08 02:45 PM by BlueManDude
that's why he won. the soviet union had just fallen and we were talking about a peace dividend. that campaign was about domestic issues.

this one is not.
