A Hillary supporter thinks the Powers incident is overblown
First who cares if she called Hillary a "monster". Hell, Hillary is called much worse here everyday at DU. I don't see why this is so bad honestly. And why did she resign anyway, she didn't have to unless she thinks it was hurting Obama, which I don't think it would have really.

This whole thing is small potatoes anyway IMHO.

1. Thanks for sharing your perspective
I think it's a shame, but it was probably the right move for her to resign, because Obama has said repeatedly that he is opposed to using personal attacks. But I appreciate hearing from a level-headed Clinton supporter...it seems there are not too many level-headed people here on either side these days.

4. Because
Hillary and a few supporter members of congress demanded it.

All I can say for Hillary is, I sure hope that none of her advisors have said anything about Obama (off the record) that, all of a sudden, come to light. Plus, this Ken Starr business? They're just getting started.

Obama is a wonderful poker player. Masterful.

7. I agree. I was stunned she resigned so easily. It makes the
Obama campaign look weak and easily intimidated.

11. I said she should resign, but I do think it was overblown
First of all, this was an interview with a foreign newspaper, The Scotsman--most Americans don't read that, I should think. Second, as I read the reporting, she made this remark "off the record," in the heat of the moment, and tried immediately to take it back. Is it normal for papers to print "off the record" remarks in the first place?

When someone says "and I say this off the record" what does that mean? (espec ially if they attempt to rescind it immediately after saying it)?

But the whole thing was blown up into an international incident, so she had to resign. Her personal feelings had been revealed, and it didn't fit the tone of the Obama campaign. Whazzup with the Scotsman, however?
