Are you saying that it is unobjectionable fact that Obama cannot answer the phone at 3:00 AM?

/facepalm

9. I saw the interview on Tucker. She also said McCain isn't ready, either.
Sitting in the Senate for decades crafting legislation doesn't make him any more prepared to handle an emergency as President.

I thought she did an excellent job making her point. She also pointed out that Obama has more experience in foreign affairs than did Bill Clinton when he ran in 1992.

she did not say he wasn't ready, she admitted he lacked foreign policy experience. Let's get it right.

19. She has quite a strong bio (good enough to work for Clinton and Kerry)
From 1993-1995, she was Director for International Organizations and Peacekeeping at the National Security Council. Between 1995 and 1997, she served as Special Assistant to the President and Senior Director for African Affairs at the NSC. After that, she served as Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs from 1997 until 2001. During the 2004 presidential campaign, Dr. Rice served as a foreign policy adviser to John Kerry.

Rice attended the National Cathedral School for Girls in Washington, DC, then earned her undergraduate degree at Stanford University, during which time she was elected a Rhodes Scholar. She went on to receive a D.Phil in 1990 from Oxford University, earning the honor of most distinguished International Relations dissertation in the UK from the Chatham House-British International Studies Association.

You, too, can google if you want to find something out.

You can also find that she was a strong opponent of the Iraq war, which is why she was one of the many former Clinton State Dept. people who went into the Obama camp.

The Clinton campaign will say...speak for yourself. I support Obama but he needs to tighten up the campaign...too many loose cannons out causing him grief.

14. Completely misleading OP
I saw the interview. She said that nobody who has not been a president can claim to be "ready" based on their experience. Not Obama, nor Clinton (yes for Bill, so maybe she would like to claim that she would just pass the phone to him if he happens to be around ), nor McCain. SUsan Rice seems very smart and has a clear, no-nonsense way of explaining things. She was very good in explaining the whole NAFTA-Canada thing.

25. Was Bill good at the red phone moment?
Did he even get one?

I'm guessing Oklahoma bombing, where he was kind of a consoler in chief.

WTC #1, where we treated the incident as more of a police incident.

Really, what did he do?

44. In reality the red phone moment has NOT happened in the decades it has been used
This is a bogus - cold war remnant answering the question of whether with missiles said to be on the way towards the US, does the President push the button to sent nuclear missiles towards the USSR.

WT1 was not one - once it happened it happened and everyone knew what it was. It happened in day time and Clinton had his staff with him to respond.

The Balkan decisions, like the Cuban missile crisis were all not immediate decisions - and the team provided input and teh president decided.
