I saw one tonight in the Seattle4Dean group I've owned for over a year. Anyone else see this? Any ideas how to counter this?
There was also an announcement to the group today to recruit folks to volunteer and pretend they are "Billionaires for Bush" and hang out at Bush appearances and gatherings wearing nice suits and signs saying "I'm a billionaire who profited off Bush".
Or something like that (for your perusal):
"Just thought I'd send an invitation to all those interested in joining the newly-formed Seattle Chapter of the 'Billionaies For Bush' group. It's hard to describe, you can check the main website at
http://www.BillionairesForBush.com"...,but B4B is a group that stages demontrations, counter-demonstrations and other events, dressed as "billionaires", thanking President Bush for all the tax breaks, write-offs, friendly regulations and support. "Billionaires" dress up in tuxes, evening gowns, and other fabulous clothes and 'play the part' of the
few Americans who are actually doing well under this President (i.e.
billionaires). It's a way to show the hypocrisy of our Administration AND dress up and have a good time, living the bling-bling billionaire lifestyle. Billionaires For Bush was profiled in an article of this past Sunday's New York Times, and was a finalist in MoveOn.org's "Bush in 30 Seconds" ad contest earlier this year.
The Seattle Chapter is planning an action for Tax Day, April 15th, where we hope to "thank" taxpayers at a local post office for the tax cuts the wealthiest tiers of American society are receiving, paid for by the rest of us taxpayers, and by our children and grand-children. Planning for this event will be held next Tuesday:
"Planning Meeting for Tax Day Event
Tuesday, April 6th, 6 to 7:30pm
419 Occidental Avenue S, 2nd Floor
(At Pioneer Square offices of United for a Fair Economy)"
(paraphrasing the following):
