Edited on Sat Apr-03-04 08:41 PM by TrueAmerican
Ban these scumbag Nader supporters now. They are ruining the board. I have to vomit every time I read their hate of the Democratic Party post.

Please do your job and ban these anti Democratic Party disruptors!

7. I agree TrueAmerican
Now is the time to ban together. Honestly, the idea that Kerry's victory could be squelched by a bunch of dumbass Nader supporters frightens the hell out of me. :scared: Go away, Ralphie! You're the devil! :evilfrown:

14. I asked about this!
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=120x16142

As a relative newbie here, I've wondered what the "shared goals" are when so many here are actively bashing and undermining the Democratic nominee. I thought the moderator's reply was reasonable, but at what point does this become "a place that will be used this year to contribute to the defeat of John Kerry?" Looks to me like it's starting to happen, but I can understand the difficulty for the moderators regarding squelching discussion.

(Should this be moved to "Ask the Administrators" or is it okay here?)

Edited on Sat Apr-03-04 08:45 PM by Gman
They are not with us. They leave no doubt they are against us and want to see Kerry lose for their own bizarre reasons.

I've been wondering for a couple of weeks when the mods would come down on them. They're pretty brazen too displaying their Green Party crap in their sig lines. They trash Kerry with impunity. But we tombstone freepers.

go figure.

29. I don't see what's so hard to understand about Nader backers
Edited on Sat Apr-03-04 08:57 PM by Gman
we don't have their votes now. We didn't have them in 2000. They hang here in hopes of pulling votes away from Kerry.

What i find most irritating about them is how they love to play the victim. They're so persecuted. Just like fundies. If someone comes in here and says "Why are you so afraid of Bush? He's right on so much stuff." they wouldn't be here 10 minutes before you'd see a tombstone in their profile.

Go figure.

5. Liked it better in 1933, in the original German.....
The convention isn't until JULY. We still DO NOT have an official nominee.

And why the heck are Dems so damned afraid of Ralph Nader? Maybe if we actively addressed the issues he's bringing forward, maybe we wouldn't have anything to fear.

Fear of Nader is for cowards. I am not a coward. I am not afraid, and I REFUSE to be cowed by fear about what Ralph Nader does.

8. We have a nominee!
Face reality. Besides DK has better chance of being the nominee than Ralph "puke' Nader.

18. Who ever said Nader was even RUNNING for nomination?
For being a "Democrat", you sure seem to be opposed to the democratic process.

Why are you so damned afraid of Ralph Nader? Do you HONESTLY believe that he'll get the numbers he got in 2000, when he had a party's apparatus behind him?

Or maybe you're afraid John Kerry won't be able to stand up to big bad Ralph? Is Kerry REALLY that bad a candidate? And if he is, how the hell did he essentially win the nomination?

Maybe you should be working to get more eligible voters to support Kerry instead of worrying about what Nader says.

Just a suggestion, of course.

23. LOL! Okay, now I know your just kidding!
I like Nader supporters because they have progressive ideals. I wish they would support Kucinich, but they are good for Democracy.

Besides, wouldn't it be cool if we had a two-party state someday?

13. The Message Board Rules don't prohibit them.
I still think that some of them can be turned to the Democratic Party. It is from them that we will get the margin over Bush. It is better to invite them in and work on them.

How does the logic work in that scenario? The Kerry supporter decides that being in a party with former Nader supporters isn't worth it, so decides to vote for shrub?!

26. If they won't support us, let's recruit NEW voters to replace them
Fretting about Nader will not do this party any good this year-- if nothing, it will distract us from the work we need to do to get NEW and previously NON-voting people to vote for our nominees.

Instead of berating every Nader supporter/voter, why don't we go out and recruit two NEW Democrats to counter that vote. Remember, only 50% of the people in this country voted in 2000!!!! That leaves us A LOT of potential supporters to get.

17. You know, I almost agree.
At this point in our history, not to support the only viable non-violent means of getting W out of office is tantamount to treason, and should be viewed in that light.

I wouldn't ban those people, but I also wouldn't ever respect their opinions again.

21. Yes,Nader is my hero but I'm voting Kerry
I wouldn't have guessed in a million years that Bush would go as far as he has with this wacked out agenda and I would add another million years to that total that America wouldn't be outraged. What world am I living in anyway...this is all blowing my mind. Any independants that aren't voting Kerry just aren't paying attention. Having said that....YOU DEMS HAVE TO BE AS TOUGH ON KERRY,WHEN ELECTED, AS YOU ARE ON BUSH OR YOU ARE JUST BEING PANDERED TO.

Cast this noisome scum into outer darkness where they may wail and gnash their teeth. How dare they besmirch Our Dear Leader, Whose strength is that of ten men, Whose oratory makes Pericles hold his tongue, Whose fiery intellect burns with the light of a hundred suns! Ban them? Death itself is too soft a fate for these foul traitors!
