I would like to remind the existing and remaining Obama supporters that "the fight for change is not over!" Forget the fat lady and remember Hillary Clinton, who used every dirty tactic in the book to win, despite the Democratic party and the American people who make it up. It is unfortunate that in the year 2008 we see these divisional tactics being used, from the plagiarism card, the race card, the religion card, the patriotic card, the fear card and oh do not forget the "whine card" (because the media was treating her unfairly because she is a white female candidate - No, she is a Clinton remember). The media downplayed the SNL skit about $itches get stuff done and $itch is the new black but diced up the mocking of Obama. I really do not get that! I do not want to seem too far left or too far right but, it is what it is. The idea that the media can talk about most Hispanics won't vote for a black man and 50% of white women won't vote for a black man but will vote for Clinton however negate the across the board vote for Obama is ridiculous (are you kidding me) and now from the look of Ohio and Rhode Island neither will 55% of white men and women in either state. This is all predicated on racial divides and social classes that still exist in this "United States of America!" The media keeps talking about the people surveyed in the exit polls and I or, nobody I know was surveyed in Texas or any other states about either candidate on any of the issues, experience, presidency or otherwise. I swear for once in my life (and I spent 16 years in the military) and I never experienced what I have experienced over the past month, as Obama supporters rallied and campaigned for change (the feeling was amazing) and even as I write this my heart aches because of the disgust I feel for ignorance, racism and place-ism. For once in America I have seen people of all ages, social demographics, race and understanding come together for something other than a Natural Disaster, a Common Threat, or Hunger and Poverty "believing in a truth, that we are ready." And in one day and a night I feel like we are no closer to understanding what is really going on because of division and ignorance and race. Is Hillary Clinton or the Clinton's really concerned about the people or is it individual gain for one family and why would Clinton supporters insist that this primary go on for another five months while the economy spirals out of control each day, and the war abroad is shifting toward destruction (there and here), while people still are without work and are still going without health care coverage and while the less fortunate, the unaffected and the dissatisfied fade into the shadows. While the republicans and John McCain savor victory because one Democrat is to busy trying to win at whatever cost and while humiliating and destroying a party although the other candidate is winning by the numbers and for what, "the people" or "one families individual legacy and gain?" For the remaining states all I can say is "get it done swiftly" so we can focus on November or we will loose it all in the end. If you are a Obama supporter then let us get this done the way we know we can or "we" the American people will all loose! As much as I know in my heart that racism motivated some of the results last night and as much as I know in my heart the news media is more hurtful than helpful and just another form of reality TV I have to tell you that it is not about me or my personal feelings it is about us, my family, your family, my future, your future, our youths future and where we want to be. Remember, the world is truly watching America. We can show strength and unity or we can show weakness, separation and vulnerability. We still have a choice, we just need not be afraid to choose what we already know and want.
