1. Thanks for that! It's all about the spin isn't it?
Let's hope the SDs come out and halt Hillary's little gloatfest.

14. As Olbermann reminded us last night what Mark Penn said: "It's all about the delegates."
"This election will come down to delegates.... Again and again, this race has shown that it is voters and delegates who matter, not the pundits or perceived 'momentum.'" - Mark Penn, chief strategist for Hillary's campaign, Feb. 13, 2008

3. Actually, Daily Kos appears to be wrong
CNN shows Hillary gaining 23 delegates, but that doesn't include the caucuses, which Daily Kos says Obama won by 7. So, Clinton may have won about 16 delegates.

8. per CNN, three states haven't finished apportioning the delegates yet
VT is the only state with all PD's accounted for: O = 9; C = 6; total 15

RI is still short one: C = 12; O = 8; total 21

OH is still short 33: C = 62; O = 46; total 141

TX-P is still short 100: C = 16; O = 10; total 100
TX-C isn't even up yet: C = 0; O = 0; total 67

Don't know why it's taking so long to get the final delegate count up, but there it is.

9. According to Hillary, Texas and Ohio do not count.
Her campaign said that all those open primaries that Obama won didn't count - so why should they count for her?

That's right, she's Hillary and it's in her favor.

Let's see how many Hillary supporters have short term memory loss.

11. I counted +1 for HRC in TX. It looks like HRC gains a net of 16 delegates, if the TX caucus % hold
Edited on Wed Mar-05-08 08:56 AM by awaysidetraveler
Hillary gained 1 delegate over Obama in Texas.

Texas Primary: Clinton 64/ Obama 60
Texas Caucus: Obama 35/ Clinton 32

Hillary gained 15 delegates over Obama in Ohio

Ohio Primary Clinton 77/ Obama 62/ Edwards 2

The Vermont and RI Primaries canceled one another out.

Vermont Primary: Obama 9/ Clinton 6

Rhode Island Primary: Clinton 12/Obama 9

Of course, the real problem is the reporting, which is rallying HRC's base for no purpose.

13. Here are the partial numbers- KOS is most likely wrong
Clinton picked up at least 115 delegates in Ohio, Rhode Island, Vermont and Texas, while Obama picked up at least 88. Nearly 170 delegates were still to be awarded, including 154 in Texas.

Obama had a total of 1,477 delegates, including separately chosen party and elected officials known as superdelegates, according to the Associated Press count. He picked up three superdelegate endorsements Tuesday,

Clinton had 1,391 delegates. It will take 2,025 delegates to secure the Democratic nomination... http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080305/ap_on_el_pr/campaign_delegates

18. Not likely :(

Also, for everyone else ... I said KOS was MOST LIKELY wrong as there are still too many delegates outstanding to know the full outcome yet.

However, there seems to be some significant differences between his numbers and AP.

16. Obama does not and will not have enough delegates to be nominated.
It does not matter who's ahead in delegates. This primary is like volleyball: no matter who's ahead, there will be no winner until someone gets to 15. If neither side gets to the magic nomination number, there's no nomination.

IOW, Obama supporters who think they can win this thing by maintaining the lead they now have are wrong. Unless he wins much bigger than anyone expects him to, he and Hillary will enter the convention effectively TIED.

And what happens then is anybody's guess.
