Ok first listened to HRC and now to Obama and there is this thread
running through BOTH speeches of impearilsm (and of course McCain but that is a given)

Here is the problem I have with the DLC... we are still living in empire building ground and these speeches (from the three of them) tell me exactly how much things will not change

That is all

(And yes, I will vote for the Dem because they are slightly better for my back pocket, but not because I expect changes in foreign policy)

1. It's okay. We're too poor to afford an empire now.
It's just that nobody can win in this country by admitting it.

You gotta stop listening to what they SAY. They're trying to get ELECTED.

4. I hate to point this out
but BOTH of them are MEDIA creations, wholly beholden to the DLC.

I don't expect any SUBSTANTIVE change with EITHER of them in the WH

7. I agree entirely with you. Not just beholden to the DLC, but to large corporations. My heart has

been very heavy since Edwards dropped out. We do not have a two party system, we have opposames. People from "different" parties, with some differences, but when push comes to shove, they reach the same conclusion. Not one candidate has talked about how our government has been co-opted. Not one of them talks about restoring the rule of law. Not one of them has talked about how our Constitution has been raped. Not one of them has the balls to talk about how they will hold Shrub accountable.

Etc, etc, etc.

12. I hate to point this out, but Matt Gonzales is hardly a disinterested third party.

(Get it? Third Party? Ah, I crack myself up.)

Oh, yes, far more noble to be shilling for Ralph Nader's bloated fucking ego.

11. Matt Gonzales is running with Nader.
No sane person would expect him to write a complimentary piece at this juncture.

6. But it sure sounds nice... what is amazing is how many folks
are still pushing one or the other, not realizing just how well the corpos pushed these two to this point

8. I keep seeing
Hoover over and over again in my mind. I think Edwards was the only one that got it. The economy, the war, the corruption, health caren climate change. They aren't seperate issues, it's all linked. They all go down together.
