To me its about breaking with the past.
I am not one of the people that is extemely passionate about Barrak Obama, but I do think it is necessary to stop passing the precidency back and forth between certain families.

And, after long consideration, I have concluded that I don't really have a particular "problem" with Hillaries IRW vote. Don't get me wrong, I think it was a very foolish thing to do, but I don't see her as a prime example of that mindset. I was against the Iraq war from the first day someone even mentioned it, but the way I see it, many people in America, the 90% that supported Bush after 9/11, were behind it.

In a way, Hillary Clinton represented the people as a whole pretty well with her IRW vote. And her unwillingness to apologize for it, shows even more that this was not the "Republican's" war. It was America's war, and the Democrats had their fair share in it, even if they like to portrait themselves as opposition occasionally. In a way, a Democrat who would run for office now that had a chance to vote against IRW and actually did so, would not seem as a credible "representative" of the people who are supposed to vote for him now.

If anything, the "it sucks now that we saw the enemy can fight back" stance more accurately represents the America that I see.

That said, I kind of hope that Barrak Obama gets the nomination. Maybe that could demonstrate that some people are willing to break with "the mindset that got us into the war."
