Despite the pessimism of some, Hillary Clinton earned the right to press on!
Edited on Wed Mar-05-08 01:14 AM by Kerry2008
Wins in Ohio and Rhode Island.

A win in Texas.

She's slowed down Barack Obama's momentum enough to stay in this race, and polls show her ahead in PA which I read on DU is a closed primary that only Democrats can vote in--which is very good for Hillary! And with these wins tonight, she's got the momentum on her side to maintain her lead in PA and make this race for the nomination locked up.

So many of you said she should drop out. And some of you still think she should. I say put the sour grapes down, stop shaking your head and whining, and realize we had to put up with you guys gloating for how long now? It's our turn. Hillary earned the right to stay in.

And baby, she's in. And she's in to win!!

Go Hillary, go!!

;) Yes She Can!

12. Though the delegate counts say otherwise...
not to rain on the parade, but at some point realism should set in.

We could, say, scrap the delegate counts and the voting process and fight it out from scratch on the floor of the convention, but does anyone really want that (besides the repugs)?

34. Congrats to Hillary on winning 3 out of 4.... but
Of the 370 delegates in play last night, HRC needed 57% to catch Obama, thats 211., she got about 52%, 191 delegates, at best 191. IF HRC gets 183 for tuesday, thats about 50%.

SO yeah, last nights results make it worse for HRC.

4. I'm a firm Obama supporter...
that does NOT think Hillary Clinton should quit. She was encouraged to quit tonight and didn't...and she swept them. I realize that she won't come out on top in the delegate count, but she is clearly gaining some momentum.

6. She hasn't won in Texas.
And why anyone wants the bland, unpopular doomed-to-defeat candidate is a mystery. It never makes sense to nominate the candidate who does worse against the Republicans than the other candidate does.

15. Your vile posts are getting old.
For someone who attacks Hillary for being destructive, that's all you're interested in doing is being destructive and complaining about Hillary and her supporters.

she has been a fixture for Democrats for a long time. This is her time, though her thunder has been diminished by Obama.

I don't strongly prefer either candidate, but I know whose supporters I strongly don't prefer and their sour grapes and ranting tonight is both hilarious and deplorable.

19. I agree that she's earned the right to press on but will still lose the nomination...
Obama is best for Democrats. Republicans will vote for Obama. They will mass to prevent a Clinton return to the White House. It's that simple.

Obama=Win

Clinton= A 12 year losing streak.

If you don't believe me look at the polls on Hillary's negatives.

29. My husband changed political parties to vote for Obama
because he's given up on the Republican Party... and because Obama really inspires him. He's actually paying attention to politics again.

I won't say anything more because I loathe the bitterness I've seen on this board lately.

24. Obama Supporter: Hillary deserves to stay in now -- But shame she used negatives...
I agree that she deserves to stay in with her impressive performance but i just wish she didnt use negative campaigns and the lies and stuff she used against him....so far Obama has just reacted and defended his positions on facts and hilary has attacked him with fake things and such...shame, but this is politics and people have said this is what she does....but the less learned is that i think, because Hilary is no doubt going to play this up even more for the following weeks, i feel Obama should start playing her game and release to the press the same negatives that he finds about her....its only fair....i remember some press was saying Obama has to drop his integrity to fight Hilary if he wants to win against her because she has and i now have to agree...i was hoping that someone could win by keeping it but i feel because hillary has decided to go the kitchen sink route, i feel Obama needs to too....granted he has far too many more delegates still but...

So, once again, bravo to the Hillary campaign, you did it and with good enough #'s to say shouild stay in....

26. I'l give her that...
she won't likely overcome Obama in delegates (or even win delegates counted just tonight), but she has earned the right to go on to at least Pennsylvania.

Meh.

28. I like a scrappy fighter and she proved that she can stand up to anything!!!
I have no doubt that if she was our president she would fight for us and never give up. I don't see that kind of toughness in Obama.

Hillary was down, kicked by the MSM and by some people in her own party but she never gave up, and because she didn't give up, neither did we. That's why despite all the bad news she was able to raise $35M in 27 days, her supporters never lost faith and as everyone knows, faith can move mountains.........

Go ahead, "celebrate" now, but if she's the nominee, we lose in November.

30. Yes she has, but...
I said before today that if she lost OH or TX she should step down. Since she managed to pull off wins in both, she should continue on. That said, I really hope that she is cuts out the scorched earth strategy. She is playing right into the Republicans' hands. The problem is that her sliming attacks against Obama will basically be used against her if she were to get the nomination, and far worse I might add. She claims that she has more experience than Obama--well McCain completely trumps her on that point. She want to portray Obama as dishonest--well McCain is going to fawned over as the straight shooting maverick. Her strategy seems to be focused entirely on the primary, but I don't see her implementing any long term strategy for the general election. If she thinks the press was against her before, just wait and see what they will do to her if she actually became the nominee.
