We interrupt this Obama-Hillary mutual hate-fest to dream about what shoulda-been.

1. I wish. I wish.
I wish. I wish.

But I had to pull a lever in a fixed horse race.

3. One thing I do know...
My former senator would not have said--or even insinuated--that John McCain would be a better commander-in-chief than Obama. Wouldn't have happened. And there wouldn't have been any "3:00 a.m. phone ringing" ad from him trying to simply scare the daylights out of people.

Which is why I'd like to see Obama pick John Edwards to run with him. I prefer classy actions and talk about real issues over the politics of fear, cheap shots and hate.

And before all the Hillary supporters jump on me about acting "as sexist as Tweety", may I remind them that I think Nancy Pelosi--yes, I said it--would make a perfectly good president. And let's remember, she was there--and will be again--on the House floor to vote AGAINST negating the Fourth Amendment, while for the last Senate vote on telecom retroactive immunity, Hillary had, um, "other priorities".:eyes:

B-)

6. Dude, a John Lennon/Mother Teresa race would have inspired this bickering.
It's politics. Not for the faint of heart. I remember the old days when Al Gore was the bad guy, and anyone who defended him was a DLC/DINO/Republican sellout.

And John Edwards inspired that type of hatred even before he dropped out. Why would that have changed? Heck, the reason he dropped out is because he couldn't get anyone to vote for him in the first place.

7. He would've. If he was standing in the way of Hillary's nomination.

8. Friend, you have clearly been on this board a longish time.
But seem to have missed previous campaigns. Edwards would have brought out the knives just like anyone. Hell, St. Francis Assisi and and Siddhartha Gautama could run against each other, and it'd be just as vicious.

would have been a clean, honorable race.

11. There was plenty of it before he dropped out
Remember the "a vote for Edwards is a vote for Hillary" meme?

12. We should stop this right now, and give John Edwards the nomination.
What?

A man can dream :)

15. Any two candidates in a tight race
would inspire the nonsense we're seeing here.
