Why haven't they called Ohio already?
Columbus is half in. Cuyahoga has reported 68,000 votes. Even Cincy is starting to come in, but nowhere near enough for Obama. This is over in Ohio.

4. Cuyahoga has already reported 68,000 votes.
No precincts are fully reported, but that's what I see on the results page.

6. There's a lot of votes still outstanding from heavily Obama areas.
The most pro-Obama areas are the ones that were short ballots and had to stay open later to accomodate the voter traffic. It's probably going to go for Clinton, but they can't or won't issue a call until they feel it can't flip.

Exit polls don't tell the whole story, and neither to partial ballot counts.

8. There are about 1,000,000 votes in Cuyahoga in a GE ...
not sure how many in a primary.

CNN posted these exit polls at 9:00 pm
Rhode Island -

Male (43%) - 56% Obama, 43% Clinton
Female (57%) - 58% Clinton, 41% Obama

Ohio -

Male (41%) - 52% Obama, 47% Clinton
Female (59%) - 54% Clinton, 45% Obama

Texas -

Male (43%) - 52% Obama, 46% Clinton
Female (57%) - 53% Clinton, 46% Obama

----------------------
Now crunching the avove numbers ...
If the above exit poll numbers hold ...
Clinton wins RI with 53%
Clinton wins Ohio with 52%
Clinton wins Texas with 52%

...

a trifecta for Hillary

16. A possible Trifecta, I doubt TX will go to her in the end,
Early voting+ Caucus= Obama win.

A trifecta after 12 loses is not that impressive, especially if she doesn't gain on Obama with delegate count. And, especially after being up 20+ %. Obama has a 50+ bloc of SuperD's waiting in the wing.

11. Don't know, but they are probably a swing back to the middle
as more results come in. they don't want to call it as a 60% win i the eventual result ends up being 55-45 (for example).

20. Chuck Todd just now discussing Ohio on MSNBC
Most of what has been reported is from rural areas. Most of the urban areas like Dayton and Cincinatti, where Obama is expected to do well, have little or no numbers in yet.

Edited on Tue Mar-04-08 10:52 PM by BearSquirrel2
It was a route, look at the map. Obama wins everywhere, some >5%, others by >=20%. He won EVERY relevant demographic by >= 10%.

32. Yes, I still want some votes counted before they call it.
They can read off the exit polls, say that it seems like it will go for Obama or Hillary or whoever. Just count some damn votes before you declare a winner. Otherwise, why bother voting? Just do the election by exit polls.
