1. Rag? I was thinking more of

grade school, when a kid would puke and the janitor would come and spread some weird orange powdery stuff on it and mop it up with that big broom. But the stench lingered.

When I was a kid, they used sawdust and wood shavings. No joke (1970s)

Back in the '50s they used something like sawdust, but it wasn't -- it was kind of orange. Maybe there was sawdust in it, though. Same idea, though, it would absorb the puke, but it still stunk.

I have done that once here at DU, and I couldn't believe I did it.

I had just eaten a spoonful of Cheerios and I clicked on a post, and pfffffffffft...all over
the screen.
