1. I'd assume they were discussing endorsements, cabinet positions.
According to Conyers, Edwards will be endorsing Obama, it's only a matter of time. His words.

I assume he's waiting like the other superdelegates to maintain objectivity.

8. Is Edwards a superdelegate?
because he was a candidate or the last VP nominee? He's not in any office now.

2. Edwards obviously didn't want to endorse the wrong one
so he is waiting until a winner becomes obvious. Then he will jump on the bandwagon.

7. No, he's doing what any responsible party bigwig would do -- wait for the Democrats to choose
Then when a decision is needed to end the nomination process, he'll choose.

13. I agree
Sooner or later soemthing will have to be done to stop what is happening before it splits the party, and Edwards is waiting for that time. When the people have chosen, then it needs to end, and people like Edwards will be able to do that.

are irresponsible?

3. He's probably waiting until after todays primaries
Its rumored that Obama has another 50 SD's that are going to endorse him tomorrow, maybe one is Edwards?

9. I don't believe Edwards is a superdelegate
Not all former office holders are SDs. I may be wrong, but I did read a while ago that he is not.

12. Edwards' whose endorsement would be good, is NOT a SD.

(After questioning it I got the list - he's not there - AL Edwards and Chet Edwards are the only Edwards.

5. I assume it was to keep it private and informal
I wonder if the fact they were in NC was related to JRE's family wanting him to stay near given his father-in -law's health.

These meetings are likely always closed door - do you remember public meetings of Kerry with Gephardt, Dean, Edwards, Clark etc ?

14. I wonder if there is a diference of opinion between John
and Elizabeth over which one to support.

Plus wanting a really good job in a Dem adm. (AG?) and not taking a chance to jeopardize it by picking the wrong one.

He'd better not wait too long or he will have nothing at all to do after the election, besides his poverty issue.

20. He's a good lawyer
He's angling for the Attorney General slot. He won't pick and endorse until he is sure he can 100% back the winner.
