58. there's nothing moral about her destruction of the democratic party
she is poison to the Democratic Party, to Howard Dean, and to the 50 state strategy.

Candidates in our state are worried - they say if Hillary gets the nomination somehow,
that it will hurt them on the downticket.

It will drive GOP turnout like crazy, plus half of the country already despises her.

this state is 40% black, and the Democratic voters are overwhelmingly black.

And Mississippi will be the last primary for almost 6 weeks- so the last result for that period will be a Hillary trouncing.

25. The sd's are free to do as they wish and I am free to react to what they do, as I wish.
Unless something drastic happens between now and the convention, the sd's could be in an unenviable situation.

If the sd's use their collective "wisdom" to chose the nominee with fewer pledged delegates (which they are free to do), they would risk fracturing the party (which unfortunately might happen no matter whom they choose). I sure hope we are not painting ourselves into a corner.

Of which around 240 have endorsed Hillary.

Around 194 have endorsed Obama.

Around 287 have yet to endorse.

Another 50 for Obama would close the only gap that Hillary has a lead in, the Superdelegate count.

59. HELLLLLOOOOOO...wake up! Obama is leading in pledged delegates
and there is a very slim shot of her ever catching up. So they would not be deciding who the winner is. They would go with the will of the people. Of course, Hillary people are depending on them to overturn the wil of the people to give her the nomination. People have said repeatedly that that is what she is trying to do because it is next to impossible for her to win it on her own. If you think she is going to run the tables and win every contest with more than 65% of the delegates you are deluding yourself. This race has been tight from day one and will continue to be tight. No matter how much you all try to throw Rezko and the Canadian crap up. People know that Hillary has A LOT more dirt than Obama. Hell..she won't even release her tax returns.

50. I hadn't heard that report from Brokaw, but I got the impression
from Bill Richardson yesterday, that there might be a movement afoot to shut this down. Maybe that means a tidal wave of superdelegates toward Obama.

56. that's exactly what's gonna happen Vinca
she crossed the line yesterday by essentially endorsing MCCain over Obama-there has to be a big movement brewing right now to save the party from her scorched earth policy. You do NOT under any circumstances say a republican is more qualified than a democrat EVER-this will NOT stand

85. 50 more to Obama would erase the only place Hillary has a lead.
She's up about 50 SuperD's. Down from a lead of about 100.

88. Christopher Beam calls it a delegate bomb

http://slate.com/blogs/blogs/trailhead/archive/2008/03/04/obama-s-delegate-bomb.aspx

Combined with the moneybomb, the superdelegate bomb could decide the race. But like any bomb, it’s something you don’t use unless you have to. To that end, the Obama campaign might have leaked the news to Brokaw to try to scare Hillary into dropping out. That way, she would avoid an embarrassing exodus of superdelegates. But if the threat doesn’t work, and the results of March 4 are close, Obama will waste no time in pushing the red button.

The reaction was muted because it was Brokaw. A warning across the bow?

89. I love it
a 50-ton superdelegate bomb on the Clinton campaign’s head the day after a tie, it’s not hard to see where momentum would swing. From same article
