Three Texas Republicans have told me they're going to vote for Clinton tomorrow
They said it's to derail the Obama Express, so they'd rather have Clinton on the Dem ticket.

Can they do that?

3. in texas can only vote dem or repug. cause i want to vote dem, i will not
be able to vote in all the other primary races locally that i really want to vote in cause only republicans are running in these races. i cannot vote in both parties. so if these people are really doing it, they will give up voting in some pretty important local races. i do not think that will be a norm. my republican hubby will be voting for obama, .... because that is who he wants to vote for as pres. but neither of us will be able to vote the other races.

5. The PPP poll showed a huge change in Republicans voting in the Dem Primary:
"PPP makes an interesting find...

Her major gains came with white voters and with Republicans intending to vote in the Democratic primary. Last week Obama led 80-13 with self identified GOP voters intending to cross over. Now Clinton has a small 46-45 edge with that group.

That's a pretty drastic change in the GOP crossover vote. I have a hard time believing a 35 point jump happened in one week, but, well, whatever.

11. The only way she can win will destroy the Democratic Party because it will require
that the superdelegates overturn the pledged delegates. There isn't any other way based on basic math facts. It will be a disaster.

20. She wont win the pledged delegates so the superdelegates would have to
overturn the pledged delegates - that is a recipe for disaster for the Democratic Party.

It is basic math.

15. I bet it's just Repubs. SAYING they'll vote for Hillary, but I doubt they'll really follow through.
But the ones who are really for Obama WILL follow through.

Surprise, surprise they can do it in a lot of states and have already done it. Early on they did it the other way, when Hillary was strong, but for the last couple of weeks the GOP has been sending out messages (like this message from Alan Saxe in the paper) telling GOPers to cross over and vote for Hillary now that Obama is ahead.

All part of "Operation Brokered Democratic Convention"--the plan is to keep the Dems from having a candidate before Denver.

The risk in Texas is that only the hard core right will vote in the primary which will cause the GOP to nominate flaky Republicans that will lose in the general.

Check out the date on the article. I am sure that plenty of area GOPers got the message.

12. What do you think they have been doing up to now???
If you think all those GOP votes for Obama are based on Republicans
changing their philosophy, there is a bridge to nowherr.......

Many of those voters for Obama will cast their vote for McCain in GE.

This is the first election in which a candidate actively pursued
the GOP in the Primary. It is customary to let each party decide
on a Democratic Candidate or the Republicans their candidate.

The General Election is where you reach out and try to bring the
other side over.

By reaching out in the primary, a whole lot of muckineess has been
created.

You don't actually think ALL of the Republicans that have been voting for the Obama are suddenly in love with a liberal black junior senator do you?

17. Which group of republicans are going to be more enthusiastic to vote?
Those who hate Hillary or those who want to drag on the process because Rush said something on his radio show?

Talking is one thing and waiting in long lines alongside democrats to vote for Hillary is another.
