I BELIEVE IN OBAMA!
Edited on Mon Mar-03-08 08:27 PM by dailykoff
FACT: Obama's Islamic credentials give him a huge advantage over both Clinton and McCain. Hillary's whisper campaign may well win her Ohio, ground zero of the Bush second term, but the fact is that Obama's connections to Islam -- yes he's a Christian, but he's also a multicultural phenom -- will be a gigantic asset to the US when he's president:

1) Internationally, the Bush-Cheney terror scam has made the US a pariah in the eyes of Islamic nations and we need to rebuild our credibility. Obama has the insight and skills to do that.

2) Like it or not, we're dependent on oil and the oil we need on is largely controlled by Islamic nations. Militarizing the Middle East isn't working out so well for us (apart from Halliburton and Exxon-Mobile, who are making out like the bandits they are) and Barack will be a better negotiator.

3) The world is changing. The "clash of civilizations" between Islam and Christianity is a Bush-Cheney propaganda function like every other crisis they've manufactured and we'll do better politically, financially, and culturally to embrace Islam instead of shitting on it.

After all, change is what the US is all about!

1. They'll surely like him much better than Bush
They'll be less likely to blow things up too.

17. Personally
I'm pretty sure we're the blower-uppers, which is another damn good reason not select another PNAC tool.

I want to embrace Islam like I embrace the fundies.

They'll be voting in this and coming elections. That's life.

10. The head of the Anglican Church is talking about working Sharia
into the liturgy and major US financial outfits like Citicorp are trying to figure out ways of making Sharia loans that don't rely on interest.

It's a whole new ball game.

14. Look on the bright side.
It's a big planet, and if it were up to us alone we'd have already offshored, bankrupted and 911-ed the whole damn thing.

3. His international outlook
will prove helpful to him. His ties to Africa and Indonesia especially. He is far more aware of different cultures and how to show respect for them than most Americans. The problem will be getting over the hurdle of religious and racial intolerance in this nation so that he can be elected. God willing, this will happen.

4. Yes that's exactly what I mean.
This whole empire thing is starting to fall apart so we need somebody who can actually negotiate instead of just carpet bombing.

7. You know what? I think voters are aware of this on some level.
Over the last eight years the US has basically conducted a holocaust against Islam (if I may use the word) and the evidence is everywhere. I think voters realize that we've taken up residence in the heart of darkness and they recognize Clinton and McCain for the Mr. Kurtzes they are.

12. "One fifth of the world population share Islam
as an ethical tradition. Muslims are the majority in 57 nations. They speak about 60 languages and come from diverse ethnic backgrounds. There are over 1.5 billion Muslims in total."

That's a lot of cluster bombs. Good bidness for Raytheon and Halliburton, but I think Obama has a better idea.

15. When Obama is elected president, it will send a message to the world.
And that message is: We are not a country like that ignorant, rube cowboy George Bush.

19. Obama gives props to Hillary:
OBAMA: "So I don't think that Senator Clinton has to answer a question as
to whether she's capable of being president or our standard bearer.

"I will say this, that the reason I think I'm better as the nominee
is that I can bring this country together I think in a unique way,
across divisions of race, religion, region.

"And that is what's going to be required in order for us to
actually deliver on the issues that both Senator Clinton and I
care so much about."
