George Allen really pisses me off
Sen. George Allen of Virginia, chairman of the Senate Republican campaign committee, said he does not fear Kerry or Dean. "Bring Kerry and Dean down to the South. Our guys would be shaking," Allen said with a grin. "I'm happy where we are."

I'm still pissed he beat Chuck Robb

3. THis is why there HAS
to be a Southern VP. So he can campaign down there with candidates. Too much at stake. Seats in NC, SC, LA, and FL.

4. I can't help but shake my head
That after almost 140 years since the civil war ended, the south still suffers from regional xenophobia.

5. As virginian....
you MUST understand how frustrating it is to have a senator (who was more than able) and married to LBJ's daughter, a war hero get defeated by a "prayer breakfast leading - howdy doody"

20. Yeah, but Chuck Robb only has himself to blame
A lot of Virginians didn't take too kindly to all the stories about Chuck's nude backrubs courtesy of some beauty queen. If that didn't happen, he'd still be Senator. He'll, he might even be president.

I still think Chuck Robb should have run for president in 1988 instead of the U.S. Senate. He could have been Bush Sr.

6. You mean "smilin' george"?????
He's a moron - - and that's an insult to morons everywhere. He's a disgrace and can't put two complete sentences together. With him and Count Dracula (Sen Warner) representing us in the Senate,we're screwed.

ITA, though. I hated the way he ran that campaign against Robb, the evilness of it was just unbelievable. He ran on his daddy's name and that's what got him elected. People in this state can't seem to delineate between the Redskins and politics. I hate that living in VA means being under the inept control of the repukes. Outside of Gov. Warner, there are no real Dems in this state. Just look at the fiasco going on in Richmond right now. It's disgraceful and embarassing.

17. I wish our Gov. would take a tip from Arnold.
Arnold has his faults but he knows how to go on the road and make his case to the citizens of Cal., in order to shame the legislators into problem-solving mode. Warner should do the same.

7. He's a lying prick!
Do you remember when he ran against Chuck Robb and he looked us in the eye and promised to vote to extend the assault weapons ban. He also swore to pursue a policy of "reasonable moderation" with regard to abortion rights. Last month he voted AGAINST the assault weapons ban and he has voted to curb a woman's right to choose at every opportunity, including the refusal to allow a late term dilation and extraction (THERE IS NO SUCH FUCKING PROCEDURE AS A PARTIAL BIRTH ABORTION!!!) even when the mother's life is in danger. I used to be proud of my state. Now when someone asks where I'm from I usually just mumble something about the D.C. metropolitan area.

19. So true - Allen's not a Virginian
He was born and raised in California (no offense to Golden State DUers). Allen tries to pass himself off for what he thinks is a Southern "good ole boy", but he looks as phony as a two-dollar bill. One of the crappiest governors we've ever had, next to Jim "my way or the highway" Gilmore, who left us with a $6.4 billion dollar deficit. Remember how "Old Smiley" cut a backroom deal with Disney to build a theme park out near Haymarket? All hell broke loose in the Valley when they found out about that one.

Allen's idea of a Virginian is somebody who finished at the bottom of his class at UVa Law School (he literally slept through his law school years) and hangs a Confederate flag and a noose in his law office in Charlottesville. What a disgrace. He puts us in the worst possible light.

He and Rick Sanitarium have a lot in common--both right-wing nutcases. The difference is that (you won't believe this) Sanitarium IS from Virginia. He was born, and grew up in, Winchester.

I miss Senator Robb, too (and told him so at a Democratic fundraiser last July). He has as much honor as Allen lacks.

14. I read that he was a young racist
that his highschool made him apologize to the entire school when he pulled some racist prank. I can't believe assholes like that can make it to the US Senate.

He's just another 2nd rate GOP'er trading on Daddy's name and fame.

Hummm...doesn't he remind you of someone else?
