Ability to hear . . .
People only hear what they want to hear, they ignore the rest. It is the reason the press is successful at influencing opinions before the General Elections. Most people dare not look up facts, they are afraid of being proven wrong. It is why negative advertising works so well. I would like to think our party is the party of true Democracy, which would indicate we are a party based on facts, truth and justice. But I would be wearing rose colored glasses if I really believed that. Our election system is broken, but many deny the facts, because it isn't what they want to hear. Our candidates should be spending time attacking the potential Republican opponent, but that isn't what people want to hear right now, so they don't (for the most part).

Someone close to me is voting for the opposition of my opponent in this primary. He won't hear the facts. He doesn't want to hear the facts. In fact, he walks away when I point out the facts. I am not wasting time on converting him, because he won't listen. I am tired of people who won't listen to facts. I am tired of those who wear rose colored glasses. I want our democracy back (yes, I know our democracy has always been a facade). But, at least, let's bring it back enough that I can believe in the system again. I want to rise each morning with the thought that anything is possible instead of rising to a stack of bills and rising to know I have to deal with hearing more misfortune.

I want to be able to turn on the news and know there is truth in the media. I want to turn on a news discussion show and hear the pundits interviewing people or politicians and not other news reporters . Why, do people listen to that garbage? Because pundits tell them what they want to hear, with not much credence to the truth, facts and justice. Our system is broken in a major way. Let's hope there are enough people without rose colored glasses that we can fix it with our voice November 2008.

3. What do you call it when you are out of posts and have something else to say?
Infringing on an older post :)

I picked up the mail today. The stubborn person that is not thinking this primary is also an occupant of this residence. Hmmmmmmmm the derogatory negative campaign mail was addressed to "Occupant". I stuffed it into a trash bag in my car and brought in my candidates campaign literature. Too bad he not only doesn't "think or hear" he doesn't read much either. At least I had the pleasure of stopping the hate mail from reaching the other occupant of this home.
