Behold! The Five Horsemen ride...
Edited on Sun Mar-02-08 02:56 PM by JackORoses
The Gang of Five...

Dodd, Richardson, Biden, Pelosi, and Gore

They ride together to protect the Democratic Party from a mortal wound.

In their collective wisdom, they have reached a conclusion as to where this race is headed.
And taking into consideration the continued battle tactics being employed by the Clinton campaign, they have decided it will be best for the Democratic Party to decide our nominee sooner rather than later. This will allow the Party time to unite around our choice and begin preparation for the Fall.

Dodd came first, endorsing Obama. The same day, Richardson said he would likely endorse.

The Clinton campaign continued to pursue its attack on Obama.

Now Richardson has came out saying, in effect, that if major victories are not won by Hillary on Tuesday, she should drop out for the good of the Party.
He is telegraphing his endorsement of Obama to Hillary and giving her one last chance to do the right thing before he goes public.

I suspect he will do so on Monday or Tuesday.

After that, who will be the next Horseman to top the hill?
Or will they come together?

Change is in the Air!

1. I really think that Gore and Edwards are going to stay above the fray
Al because he wants to remain neutral and John because he holds 26 delegates.

2. I suspect Gore will be one of the last to make a call. He will only do so when all else has failed.

18. He will support the nominee. He won't endorse at this point.

4. More like they're DLC and don't want to tip the scales. It's safe to say that...
there is no love loss between Gore-Clinton and Edwards-Clinton, but both are going to toe the DLC party line. Edwards will run again, but I'm not sure what Gore's reason for staying is.

3. when the old guard speaks it will be time to go
I heard Richardson say about the same thing on tv this morning. I doubt we will hear from Pelosi unless it goes to the convention. If one or two other names will come out to say that it is time to go, I think that it will be over. I list Dean, Richardson, Biden, Edwards, Gore and others in this list of king makers that will be the final decision makers who might be telling Hillary behind the scenes and possibly on tv this week, maybe by Tuesday but definitely afterwards.

-very good post.

7. There's nothing to be done
until after the primaries on Tues. I'm just hoping that Obama gets the wins we need to begin campaigning for the General against the ultimate warmongering politician, mccain.

9. I think this holds true unless Hillary wins with 60-40 kinds of numbers
and I dont see that happening. Texas is in doubt and Ohio is in play. I predict something crazy tomorrow.

17. "Texas is in doubt"?
Not according to all our Texans on the ground. Yes, tomorrow will be crazier than previous days in hilaryland and Tuesday will hopefully get us some sanity back.

11. Not a particularly wise analogy considering what comes to mind...
I think you've got a good message; however, I wouldn't choose "horsemen" as it smacks of the infamous "Four Horsemen of the Apocolypse," which I certainly don't think herald an Obama victory (or Hillary victory) for that matter. Now John McCain -- maybe. ;)
