Clinton says Obama would be MIA in a crisis
Clinton says Obama would be MIA in a crisis

Democratic presidential candidate Senator Hillary Clinton (D-NY) speaks at a rally in Dallas, Texas Saturday. Polls show Clinton and rival Barack Obama in tight races in both Texas and Ohio.

DALLAS - New York Senator Hillary Clinton warned Democrats on Saturday that rival Barack Obama was unqualified to be America's commander in chief, telling voters they risked him going "missing in action" during a national crisis.
With polls showing Clinton at risk of losing primaries next week in both Texas and Ohio, the former U.S. first lady levelled her sharpest criticism yet of Obama's experience on national security.

"He says talking about the realities of the job, like those 3 a.m. phone calls that come out of the blue, is somehow fear mongering. Well, I don't think people in Texas scare that easily," Clinton told about 3,000 supporters at a rally in Dallas.
"If you can't have that debate with me, how can you have it with (likely Republican nominee) John McCain?"

.....

At an earlier rally in Fort Worth, Clinton alleged Obama's experience dealing with foreign policy was limited to his prominent 2002 anti-war speech.
"There's a big difference between giving a speech at an anti-war rally and giving orders as commander-in-chief," Clinton said, adding Obama was "missing in action" during his tenure as chairman of a Senate subcommittee on NATO.
"He failed to hold a single substantive hearing on Afghanistan or anything else."

Obama, campaigning Saturday in Rhode Island, which is also holding a primary Tuesday, accused Clinton of trying to divert attention from her own Iraq vote.
"Real change isn't voting for George Bush's war in Iraq and then telling the American people it was actually a vote for more diplomacy when you start running for president," he said in Providence. "The title of the bill was 'A Resolution to Authorize the Use of United States Armed Forces Against Iraq.' That sounds like authorizing the use of United States armed forces against Iraq."

.....

A Reuters/C-SPAN/Zogby two-day tracking poll released Saturday showed Obama with 45 per cent support in Texas compared to 43 per cent for Clinton. The race seems just as close in Ohio, where the Zogby poll showed Clinton and Obama tied with 45 per cent support.

Is it Wednesday yet?

13. Just like you did the past 11 primaries?
We won't know til Tuesday, and I can't wait either. I know who I'm voting for in TX and there's plenty more where I come from. If Clinton wins by the huge majorities she needs, more power to her.
If not, I hope she considers the good of the party.

4. Enough with the requests for free advertising, Sen. Clinton!
We all know it's the only reason you want so many debates - we know how broke your campaign is and we know how badly you do in debates, so it can't be for any other reason!

10. Sounds like she's been missing in action during the 20 debates
And that the people of Texas are deaf, dumb and blind along with her.

I don't think so. That's why she lost her huge lead and the poll numbers reflect that fact.

12. Hillary's gutter politics in her twilight hours of her campaign will prove historically...
...that she was willing to try to win at all costs and could not afford the World to see her as an honest person.

History greatly dislikes dishonest people and she will be invoked with such a description as a conniving liar. She hurts the future of a woman running for President as well as makes people think that a woman can only get so far with the help of her man. Her campaign will go in the history books as one of the worst run ever with some of the dirtiest tricks ever devised.

14. That would be this Hillary, right?

The same Hillary who has been missing in action for seven years when we needed a senator to oppose this evil administration.

Ending Hillary's political ambitions, and holding her accountable for enabling Bush is long overdue. But I am happy to wait a few more days.

18. Here, with her commander in chief, who says:

Houston Chronicle, March 2, 2008:

.....

During a news conference at the ranch with Danish Prime Minister Anders Fogh Rasmussen, a member of the Danish media asked Bush what part of his foreign policy he hoped would continue after he leaves office.

"We'll let it sort out," Bush said, declining to answer.

Then he used the opportunity to predict a Republican victory in November.

"But I will tell you this: The issue in America is going to be, who will keep taxes low, and who will be tough in protecting America," Bush said. "And our candidate for president is going to win because he will have convinced the American people to this truth."

For those who created it, for those who demanded it, for those who facilitated it, The Iraq War Resolution will eat them alive.

"He failed to hold a single substantive hearing on Afghanistan or anything else." With all the talk about how we dropped the ball on Afghanistan, what was he doing about Afghanistan when he had the opportunity?

Edited on Sun Mar-02-08 02:10 PM by Drunken Irishman
Narrator: There is a crisis somewhere in the world. Hundreds could be dead, the world on the brink of war. But your president is missing in action as the world crumbles. Hillary Clinton doesn't trust Obama to handle international crisis. How can you? Vote McCain, your life could depend on it.

Thanks, Hills, for giving Republicans an endorsement. I don't think I've ever seen a Democrat with less chance at the nomination do so much harm as Hillary's done over the past couple of weeks.

23. "Missing in action"? How low will she go?
What is she doing? Does snatching the nomination at this late date mean more than putting a Dem in the White House?

She's going to have some serious backtracking to do after she drops out.
