Does anyone know why Wes Clark was not at the Unity Dinner?

29. I just finished watching that on C-Span
( It's still on) I thought the same thing when I saw Lieberman laughing. And it was no act...he was really enjoying himself.

Did you notice Bush clicking his teeth and all the mouth gestures?
Looks like he has developed some kind of facial tic.

Another thing...didn't Bush look damn quilty and uncomfortable when the journalist told the stories about the wounded? Looked like he could crawl under the table. (Looking for WMD of course)

4. he was, but he was far off the side on stage
and i think once they left the stage most of the primary candidates other than kerry and dean must have been walking around and meeting and talking with people which made it hard for the camera to find them anytime they were mentioned as when clinton mentioned all the candidates. that's why the camera got to show kerry, dean, hillary anytime someone mentioned them by name since they mostly sat in their seats throughout the dinner.

7. Did anyone see Hardball last night?
He and some woman from Time and Howard Fineman were all laughing and saying how they really all hate each other. They said Carter hates Clinton and Clinton hates Carter and Gore hates Clinton and Kerry and Dean hate each other, etc. etc.

It's probably true -- but I hated hearing them say it.

8. it's NOT true
none of them "hate" each other. they had some differences and arguments on things, but that doesn't mean they hate each other. these pundit whores just like to gossip and bash democrats. if you want to talk about hate, lets talk about mccain and bush. compare mccain's endorsement of bush where he said it's like taking bad medicine and getting it over with, and this year where when asked why he was campaigning for bush in new hampshire he said "they asked me to", to the endorsement kerry got from all the above democrats.

33. I think McCain also compared Bush to Vietnam
I recall him saying something like 'if I can forgive North Vietnam for the war, I can forgive George Bush' (which to him is kind of like him calling Bush a mortal enemy of his).

10. I saw Hardball, that was silly and stupid, and, well, jealous...
they weren't mean, but they did sort of appear uncomfortable at seeing all the love, (which can be uncomfortable if your having problems with your own views). They wereupset that they were not right there HEALING with them. Hence the animosity.

12. What I thought was appropo
Was that they were saying that the Dems wouldn't win on economy alone.
I don't normally find TV types credible, but this wasn't a TV type. It as a Time reporter.

Oh... and I guess I'll get banned for my siggy - but, it's correct.

22. Yes, and...
I think on the same show, they went over and over Clinton putting his hand up. "Was he waving to Gore? Or was he attempting a high-five with Gore? If it was a high-five gesture and Gore didn't respond by giving the high-five in return, was it a deliberate snub? Is this a sign of tension between these two men? Or was it simply an awkward moment? Let's take a look at it again..." Geeeeez.

11. Kerry thanked Wes for being his
surrogate, which he has been these last few weeks, especially while he was on vacation.

Unfortunately, he was elbowed out of the way, by the political pros, who have a lot of practice getting camera time.

terry mack apparently corrected that - the one decent thing he did that evening.
As for Edwards, even Faux noticed;

I've been pretty pissed about the way Wes was shoved aside by Lieberman, who has done NOTHING to help the Dems, & in fact has worked against them, such as Clarke book.

Lieberman has not even endorsed Kerry yet.

And "Eddie Haskell in pinstripes" is classic!!!! LOL!!!

He did look like such a suck-up!

You have to admit, this guy is a diplomat, he must be to be able to stomach a social affair with these people.
