Obama to run 2 minute ads on Monday in all Ohio and Texas markets...
From NBC's Chuck Todd
According to a source who tracks TV ad buying, Obama campaign has bought two-minute blocks in every market in both Ohio and Texas on Monday. It's unclear what the content will be, but sounds like it will be some sort of closing message. As we find out more, we'll report more.

*** UPDATE *** Some more details... the ads are to begin running March 3rd, the day before the primaries, statewide in both Ohio and Texas. It will air on the local evening news at 5 pm, 6 pm and 10 pm or 11 pm on most stations. So far, the ads will not run in Vermont or Rhode Island. Stations have not yet received the ad, so content is not yet known.

2. Yikes -
these days 2 minute spots will seem like an ETERNITY. But then, when you listen to Obama, you kind of lose track of time, so it's all good.

He's sure putting his money to work for him! :7

3. I'm going now to donate to help pay for this.
We need Obama to win, and that is all there is to it.

Otherwise, it will be the same ol' same ol'.....and I don't think that I could bear that! :(

4. Smart move. I hope he can close the sale
I think he has a better shot at Texas than Ohio, but I think both states will be close. I think it is also conceivable that HRC can still win both, not by much, but enough for the pundits to say that she keeps her campaign alive. My hope is that Obama will take at least one of the states.

5. You see, it's nice when you don't blow all your money on consultants, parking & 4-star hotels.
It's good to have a little left over for TV ADS and GOTV!

22. I'm sure he wishes he could
waste money on the Hallmark Channel on an infomercial, and then lend his campaign $5 million to make up for those misspent dollars. But, you know, since he has done virtually nothing right in this campaign and has blown 20+ point leads in state after state, he has to roll the dice on these 2 minute deals.

14. Content Guesses?
Sorry, Bleachers - I didn't see your thread - I'll ask mine be deleted.
What I said was:

Wow.

Content guesses anyone? Will it be Obama talking to the camera? An Axelrod mini-doc with voiceover?

An amazing buy though, really. History making.

No need to waste a thread. Find something and post it.

I think he's going to run through some policy and a plea for a vote.

20. Done - changed my post. As for content....
I agree....I don't expect too much of a "production" except maybe the last fifteen seconds or so. I am expecting a heart-to-heart.

And make no mistake - David Axelrod runs that campaign. Media, strategy, debate prep, you name it.

Interesting bio/article on Axelrod from The Nation last year:
