Poll question: Will HRC stay in UNTILTuesday if the next polls show her support continuing to fall?
Edited on Thu Feb-28-08 04:14 AM by Ken Burch
Is it possible that she might withdraw before then, if the current trends continue, as a face-saving gesture?

2. Even if it looks clear that it's gonna be a blowout?
(granted, it's not there yet but the tipping point seems to be approaching).

4. Yes, she has so many people working for her and supporting her, she has to take this one last shot
Look at how Edward's supporters were hurt when he left and he never won a state. Hillary supporters would feel betrayed if she left right now. The polls have been wrong before and there is the slim chance they are wrong again now.

Don't get me wrong, I wish she would drop out and I think it would be better for our party. I just don't see her working so hard to win these contests and then bailing just days before they take place.

10. You make a good point. The campaign is bigger than her.
And, I think it's good for our Democratic primary process. Most states never feel like they have much input into the process. this election is one of a kind in that respect. It would be nice if we could tone down the vitriol a bit, but ultimately, even though I want to see Obama win, I'd like to see it come by honestly and without disenfranchising people in the process.

3. I don't think that further humiliation is helpful.

11. its a fair point all of the supporters of the rest of the candidates
deserved it too - I just worry that it will create more problems if she gets really humiliated. charges of sexism etc. My wish is that she wakes up tomorrow takes the high road and wins everyone's heart and returns to be a force in the Senate.

6. The poll is confusing. You have two questions
"Will HRC stay in UNTIL Tuesday if the next polls show her support continuing to fall?" I'd say No

"Is it possible that she might withdraw before then, if the current trends continue, as a face-saving gesture?" I'd say Yes.

Either it's confusing or I need to go to bed.

15. I was only polling on the question in the thread title?
The related question in the body of the thread intro wasn't meant to be part of that.

7. I started a thread last week, predicting that if her internals
and public polling show her losing both OH and TX in a blow out, she'll drop out before Tuesday. I stand by that, but there's no reason, at this point, to believe that the polls show any such thing.

8. It seems highly unlikely. Her internals would need to predict huge defeats...
and even a slight defeat could be spun as a comeback of sorts.

13. Yes and No.
I think she'll stay in even if she gets crushed on Tuesday. She's certainly not dropping out before then.
