Obama won, no question- Most voters on MSNBC agree (65%-22%)
Edited on Tue Feb-26-08 10:51 PM by adoraz
This is the very first debate where I strongly feel Barack Obama won. He answered everything very, very smoothly and had some great moments. Clinton had some moments, but overall she had some very low moments that I felt hurt her. Some of these:
-Not pronouncing name correctly
-That ridiculous comment about going first in the beginning
-Obama's response to her on rejecting

Just some silly things that should of been avoided, and there were many more.

Those are the moments people will remember though.

I felt Obama did an EXCELLENT job, and Hillary didn't do nearly as well as she needed to.

BTW, MSNBC voters agree, check this out:

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/23354735/

I definitely think this debate helped Obama. He was very calm, cool, likeable, and looked extremely intelligent.

Sorry Clinton supporters, but I think this is the end of the line for Hillary. She needed to win, but most say she lost.

Hillary just came off as desperate to me too often, and Obama never looked that way.

Just my 2 cents. Feel free to disagree.

4. The one thing that is clear is that he is
a very deep thinker and doesn't let himself get rattled. He takes the time to formulate his answer to things and defuse issues. He gave an excellent answer to the reject/renounce crap. He also has shown that he doesn't have to always have the last word, which I think is an important quality.

11. eh I have to disagree
they don't mean much, unless if there is such a gigantic gap like these 2. I remember California debate had them basically tied, so I don't think there is much bias from the Internet.

It it was a 10% difference or something I would agree with you.

26. Like starting by whining about being asked the first question, then citing SNL
and suggesting that the moderators would offer Barack another pillow. That was really strange.

Then nitpicking Barack's "denouncing" of Farrakhan, saying SHE would "reject" such verbal support. That one really made her look nasty and out of ammo.

38. Sorry I jumped in on the question, but you're right.
I really didn't mean to be obnoxious and answer for you. :)

And someone on MSNBC just mentioned how she said she didn't want to "deal in hypotheticals," and really stuck to that point, almost refusing to really answer the question.

41. I was adding on to your answer
because it was the point I was going to make. :)

There were just a lot of points in the debate that I remember thinking she was either not funny or combative or just plain weird. And really, the point at the end about the world looking at us different with a woman president, well that's been a point with the Obama campaign, it seems to me.

notice how last time there were many Hillary supporters saying she won the Texas debate? we're not even seeing that now.

If that MSNBC poll is anywhere near accurate, it is huge, huge trouble for HRC.

I wonder how much of the Ohio voters watched this.

39. not true
as I said, I remember for CNN's california poll they were dead even. For this, there is a GIGANTIC gap. A 3:1 gap.

40,000 people have responded anyways and the results aren't changing, I don't see how you can downplay this.

Am I saying it is 100% accurate for the rest of the public? No. But it certainly means something.

If it was a 10% difference or something I wouldn't have even brought it up, but 3:1....

It clearly is a good sign for Obama and a bad one for Hillary. This wasn't some small poll on an unknown website with a 10% difference.
