John Kerry Is Smarter Than You Think
Did you think it was a coincidence he'd taking his vacation just when the 911 hearings are heating up?

This commision will do more damage to Bush than Kerry could in 10 campaign seasons.

When Kerry comes back next week, refreshed and ready to go, it'll be just perfect timing to catch Bush while he's weak.

Go John, you are one smart cookie.

:)

3. Or, in the words of old Chicago politics,
never get in the way of a perfectly good train wreck.

2. I was just thinking that...
Sit back, let the sh*t hit the fan and come in later. Any comment he'd make now would be construed as "politicizing" 9/11 and the hearings and he has to stay above that.

I really hope he knows what he is doing.

And I really hope someone asks Clarke why he "waited" until now to publish his book so he can answer "because the White House held it up until now." Any book written by former staffers has to be vetted before it can be published.

5. The White House held it up
that's right. In his interview on NPR, Clarke states he submitted the book last year and it took the WH 3 months to get it back to him.

6. Clarke addressed this yesterday
The White House took its sweet time going over it. This was the earliest it could have been released.

4. You are correct...
a lot of people are demanding he speak out on this or go on the attack. They couldn't be more wrong. To do so would only increase the perception that all the attacks against the Bush admin regarding 9/11 are partisan political attacks.

MUCH better for it to unfold this way, and let Kerry have his say later.

yes, he's smart.
